Hey guys, I am trying to change a Shotgun from a ranged weapon to a melee weapon. I have a 2d8 sword and no way to create it. Is there a way to change the weapon type so it picks up the correct player stats and abilities?
Okay, what exactly are you trying to create? A 2d8 sword? Is the "2d8" damage roll the only reason you want to use a shotgun as the base, or is there something else you need?

Yes a 2d8 sword. And the shotgun is already at 2d8. I didn't see any melee weapons already st 2d8. If I missed one, I'd be happy to use that instead. Thank you!
I know how to change damage types and make it finesse etc. Just need to make it melee and not ranged. Any help is appreciated.
If you start with a greatsword, remove two-handed and add versatile it will give you both the 2d6 standard Greatsword damage and also a 2d8 versatile damage to roll as well.
Alternatively you could just add 1d8 to a Rapier instead. It won’t roll (it automatically though, the player would just have to roll the second d8 separately and add the results together.)

No, that is not possible currently.
