For that exact array of skills, you’re gonna have to create 5 “options,” one for each skill, and set it to allow them to choose 2 of those options. As part of each option you will attach a modifier that grants proficiency in on of those skills.
Unless something else uses that exact same list of skills and you could use the Modifier Subtype “Choose a [Whatever] Skill,” but I don’t think anything uses that exact list. I could be wrong though. 🤷♂️
I hate homebrew. It is usually so horrible and unbalanced and I cringe when I see or hear about anyone mentioning it.
But, if there is any homebrew I would ever allow, it would be the stuff IamSposta creates. Can we get a custom title or flag or something that recognizes his contributions and dedication to the Homebrew forums and helping people out with out?
Cause he needs like, a title, or an emote or something. :D
Hey @IamSposta, I have a similar question regarding Natural Armor Class (when not wearing any armor). I was trying to do a 12 + dex modifier and I did as follows for AC:
It hasn't changed the armor class at all. It still treats the base as 10 and adds dex, plus any inventory or class related stuff. I've tried refreshing the page, and changing races again to see if that would load any changes made, and it hasn't yet. Have I missed a step anywhere?
I just saw you have compiled frequently asked questions, and this falls into one of those! Thanks for the assist, and thank you all the help you give to the dnd community :) I'll wait a little longer and see if my progress shows up on the character sheet.
If I did happen to miss anything from what you can see, I am happy to hear it! Otherwise, I think I just need to wait up to 20 minutes...
Hardened Scales. Your tough, scaly hide gives you a natural armor. When you aren't wearing armor, your AC is 13 + your Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
any tips on how to make this?

I'm trying to make a race that has natural armor and gets to choose 2 skills to be proficient in from a selected list, anyone know how to do either?

how?
Depends:
What’s the AC supporting be? With or without Dex?
What list of skills?

the AC is 15+dexmod and the skills are choose 3 from animal handling, nature, perception, stealth, survival
For the AC:
Modifier: Set->Subtype: Unarmored AC->Fixed Value: 5

one of my homebrew races has this trait:
