In the editor for the monster, in the area where you did the copy/paste: at the top of the field you can find a button with the following symbol. </> If you click that button, you will be able to see the actual code that’s there, it might include a hyperlink you cannot see, or some other code that looks like a hyperlink to the system at least. Also, if you put any links that reference something from this website, they still count as “external links,” only the tooltips are permitted. They are similar to hyperlinks, but specifically generated here with a special identification code to guarantee that they don’t go anywhere inappropriate or malicious. You can learn more about them here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/9811-how-to-add-tooltips
Once you’re sure that there’s no hyperlinks anywhere, save the whole monster again to trigger it to recheck for compliance.
As long as you have nothing in the lair/lair actions fields, make sure the box marked “Has Lair?” Is unchecked and that will remove those fields from the final version. The fields will remain in the editor, just ignore them.
Just a heads-up. You don’t have to publish them for you and the people in campaigns with you to use them. Publishing just lets the rest of the world use it if we want. As long as whatever you make is in your “collection” you can use it no problemo. And once you publish something, I hope you never want to change it. You can, sort of. But it’s a pain in the neck and has some ongoing inconvenience associated with it. So if you’re not 100% it’s ready, like if you haven’t playtested and edited, then you might want to wait next time. I should have mentioned it sooner, my bad.
Hello,
First time creating a homebrew monster. I've tried looking through FAQs for the answer or here in the thread. I keep getting this message:
"This monster cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
I copied info from a document I had, but none of those had hyperlinks, so how/why am I getting this message?
(Also. how do I get rid of the Lair/Lair Actions tab, as the creature will not have any of those--at least in this version.)
