The dmg says to use the same table as spell damage for homebrewing healing spells but when comparing the table to official spells it makes spells where the homebrew spell seems like it's a must have has anyone come up with some guidelines to use for making homebrew healing spells?

Alright my current idea is to have a base range of 30 feet with it arcing to 2 targets within 20 feet of the first and from each of those 2 more targets within 10 feet thinking of using 3d4+mod dropping the lowest d4 with each person down the chain. I know kinda complicated but it's chalk full of flavour lol
My first instinct is compare what you're trying to do with other official spells that closely or kind of replicate what type of effect you're going for... for this situation probably good to check out healing spirit, prayer of healing, mass cure wounds, and mass healing word for aoe spells then check out other spells wording for the arcing effects such as chain lightning and chaos bolt.
I'd probably have it start with only one arc after the initial target first, then maybe increase the amount of arcs at certain spell levels.

Thanks for the tip for looking at chaos bolt. I don't have the wording down yet but what if I use a base range of 30ft and a bounce range of 30 as well doing 3d4s with every set of doubles making it bounce add more dice at higher levels. So at the base level it could arc to 2 party memebers but at higher levels the chances go up because of the added dice.
Edit maybe use d6s to make the bounce harder to get
Okay if you guys are still up for giving feedback this is what I got currently think its a level 2
You create a bolt of radiant lightning that arcs toward a target of your choice that you can see within range. Undead and Constructs are Uneffected.
Roll 2d6 healing for the first target if you roll doubles the arc bounces to another target within 20 feet and you reroll the healing dice removing one die from the pool
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, add 1d6 to the dice pool. For every additional matching die the arc forks targeting 1 more creature.
