I am trying to make a magic ring that has 4 spells in it that can be cast once a day. I have figured out that I need to set the charges to 4 and the recharge option but I cannot work out how to set it so each spell can only be cast once - at the moment you I can cast the same spell 4 times.
There is no way to restrict it, other than the text in the ring's description.
If this is for private, personal, use then you could leave the ring as just description and make a feat itself as with feats you can, indeed, restrict spell usage specifically and each would be separately linked to its own charge.

so would i need to create a feat for each spell trapped in the ring?
No you could create 1 feat that allowed 4 spells, each to be used once and reset on short rest / long rest / dawn /etc as needed.

You won't be able to put the feat in the ring. You can make the ring so you can see it on your character but all the function would be a feat you'd have to manually add to your character.
It's clunky but it will work. This is also why it should be private use not shared.
Or you can just give it four charges and just state in the description each spell can only be cast once. Or just let them cast any of the spells with a charge.
There are workarounds, they're imperfect but can work, if you want to use them. But ultimately magic items don't have the function built-in to achieve what you want.

very clunky work around - suppose you could give it the choose feat and get the player to pick that feat....
No, it doesn’t work. We cannot attach a feat to magic items. On the character sheet, under “features & traits” click on “feats” and then “manage feats” and you can add it directly to the character sheet there.
