Hey guys, I'm trying to make a magical sword that one of my players are getting but am having some trouble with adding some spells to it. I want the player to be able to cast counterspell 1 time per long rest and trueseeing 1 time per long rest but every time I add it either doesn't let you cast the spell (saying cast at will) or making it so you can cast both spells but only once each for that long rest. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
you’re doing nothing wrong, but Magic Items don’t work that way. You can give the item 2 charges, and have each spell cost 1 charge, but the player will be able to choose to cast each spell once or either spell twice because that’s how charges work. And Magic items down rest, they refresh charges at Dawn. The whole “long rest” thing is only there because DDB hasn’t added Character Actions to Magic items yet.

You could do it as a feat or as two separate items, but they won’t actually refresh on a rest
