I'm working on putting together a Sorcerer sub-class that functions similarly to the Druid and Cleric, where they know their spells but have to prepare them from that list.
As an example, how would I set the Psionic Spells for Aberrant Mind to where they know them, it doesn't count against known spells, but they still have to prepare them like their other Sorcerer spells. As it stands everything I've tried still has them show up as always prepared
It is currently impossible to switch Sorcerers from spontaneous casters to prepared casters. That is a base class feature and we cannot access those yet.
I'm guessing my only option would be to add them in the homebrew subclass. It'll pop red on the character sheet, but I'm not sure if that'll cause a problem.
You could do it like the Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul where they get specific spells at certain levels.
To be honest, the way the Manage Spells function works, the difference between “learning” and “preparing” spells is mostly in the nomenclature. Functionally, a player could learn/unlearn spells to simulate preparing/unpreparing spells. The character sheet really won’t know the difference.
