From some of my feeds White Wolf's revitalized this "vampire personality test" again.
I took it trying to not get Malkavian, for ... "reasons," and got Malkavian. Kind of curious whether all the clans listed in the game are available through the test, especially the Sabbat. Anyway, if anyone wants to be nostalgic for the 90s. There's this thread.

Never played it, but... apparently I'm among the most humane vampires. This is probably true, based on my feeding habits in the past. Blood is delicious, but there's a fine line between nourishing yourself and murdering others.

You're a rare individual, Thauraein, at least in terms of vampiric identity. I haven't played since 1st or 2nd edition. I think there's a couple of clans missing, there was one Sabbat clan that was sort of body horror post-human nightmarish. Not nostalgic enough to look into old history online though. But yeah the Salubri weren't exactly human so much "enlightened." Actually, if I remember right and I have my Anne Rice straight, I think the Salubri actually anticipated some of the spiritual transformation and transcendence Lestat had in the latter Vampire Chronicles.

Apparently I’m Gangrel. ‘Often closer to beasts than other vampires, the Gangrel style themselves apex predators. These Ferals prowl the wilds as easily as the urban jungle, and no clan of vampires can match their ability to endure, survive, and thrive in any environment. Often fiercely territorial, their shapeshifting abilities even give the undead pause.’
... I’ve also played Tremere, Ventrue and Tzimisce.
So am I missing something or did 5th edition Vampire ditch Vicissitude? I thought it was a Tzimisce or maybe Lasombra discipline and really was the most "Sabbat" like of the disciplines and really showed they were on a different path than the Camarilla paths. I actually thought there was some irony between the Sabbat that had vicissitude, using vampirism to literally shape themselves into something beyond human, and the Salubri who transcended things through a much more peaceful path. But you know, as a Malkavian it can probably said I recognize patterns that folks can't see, and may not be there anyway.

Toreador, but I’ve also played Tremere, Ventrue and Tzimisce. Personally I’m more of a Toreador though. My writing is my art.
@TTB Did you come up as Salubri?
Yep!

In prior editions Banu Haqim were the Assamites. They were a vampire assassin clan not really affiliated with the two main vampire power structures. Kinda vampire cop, but more like the folks who enforce the "rules" in the John Wick universe. You are the consequences for particular transgressions of the "the rules." But you also have the whole "special set of skills" things that gives you a sort of broader mercenary value, if your clan sanctions it. In fact, at least way back Assamites in some groups were easily poorly played as the equivalents of vampire John Wicks.

It was a Tzimisce Discipline. It got retconned as a form of Protean. My character’s name was Caprice (like “whimsy”). She was a Tzimisce scientist on the Path of Metamorphosis who always wore thick lensed glasses with clear frames because in spite of her Vicissitude (which literally means obstacle) she always had trouble seeing. There’s definitely a pattern 😊.
There’s also the Salubri antitribu, basically Warrior Salubri who hate the Tremere. They also made it into V5. They’re edgier than the regular Salubri.
That stupid quiz says I’m Lasombra, but I’m totally a Brujah.
You totally seem like a Brujah lol
Sorry I’m answering so much. I just know a lot about VtM. I started playing with V20 and I really love it. Love a lot of the White Wolf/Onyx Path games, especially Trinity Continuum (thematically very different from the World of Darkness).

Keep the chat's going, it's always fun to see someone share knowledge of a game passion :)
Finding it interesting that with 7 respondents so far, no duplicates and my concern that the test didn't allow non traditional camarilla seems unfounded. Wonder how many respondents we'd need to start seeing some doubling up.

In the World of Darkness one does not often become what you want to be ... I mean how else would you be a tortured soul? I'm thinking a clever Lasombra got to the Brujah's prospect (you) before you could be sired, now you're to infiltrate the Brujah and push them to braver and bolder actions, that happen to advance the agenda of your Lasombra master. Embrace it, so to speak.

See, it’s stuff like I’m reading here that makes me glad my group never updated to a newer WoD system after the ‘90s. We still play the old system if we play WoD. There is no Banu Haqim, they’re still the Assamites, there’s stil vicissitude, all of it.

Yeah, but Banu Haqim is a more accurate Arabic translation. Just means Children of Haqim in Arabic. Assamites is just an English version of that.

Tzimisce are very cold and inhuman. But often quite beautiful, especially the younger ones.
