My interest is piqued, I admit. Would the app in question be available on PC? I don't really have proficiency in phones.

I don’t download apps unless I absolutely need to, and I especially avoid free apps. If an app is free, then the user is the product. I refuse to be anyone’s product if I don’t absolutely need to.
Everyone who is interested, here’s the full details:
Available on phones definitely, I’m not sure about computer, but I’d look up their website (just look up TableTop Town) to check.
Any game would be good to me! Any GM as well!
And Sposta, I get it. I usually follow a similar philosophy. My phone has the apps it came with plus a few D&D ones and my personal stuff (banking apps, etc). This is my only path to D&D right now though, so I consider it an essential (;. I promise you that you would not be a product. This app is good and trustworthy.
Merchandise is digital stuff -- for example, let's say I see a cool item that someone else created and put over there. I have to spend tokens to get it. 100 tokens runs about 2 bucks.some of that goes t the app store, some of that goes to the payment processor.
It is, essentially, an app version of something like DMG or Drive thru, but way more granular. Reminds me of the old Second Life store (and I cannot believe I am saying that given I haven't been on that site in *decades*.
The Token system lets them keep a cut of everything, and still use the mobile app stores -- about half of the actual money gets sent back to the folks who create stuff for the marketplace.
I would have to spend probably three months or so creating the basis for me to run a gun -- just basically creating the stuff to handle the rules. Very doable -- they've got PF in there, lol -- but time consuming and detail based, and I'm still working on spell descriptions and have a two page checklist of things to finish.
Of note is that they *don't* collect obvious user data. The payment processor collects more than they do (paypal) and the app stores collect more than they do. DDB collects more than they do, lol.
Also,it is *VERY* wise to be aware of that. Sadly, it may be a case of closing the barn door after the cows done left. 10 grand and you can buy enough information on a group of people that you can call some of them unknown to you and ask when the baby is due. Credit and Debit cards are the worst offenders, lol.

I’ve actually taken a look at it from a designer perspective and you don’t actually need a game system put in to play. It’s like the DDB play by post, but cleaner. You can roll dice and check a character sheet on DDB. This is what a few friends and I did and it worked out really well.
I’m definitely down for a game, preferably on a DNDbeyond PM thread but I might could do tabletop town. If so, who would dm? I’m assuming Amnon since they suggested it but maybe they don’t want to do it

their is no light without dark. no calm without storm. no heroes without villains. I, unfortunately am the dark. I am the storm. I. Am. The. Villain (not really considering I'm a forever player and never get the chance to DM)

We could rotate the screen around the group if nobody wants to do it full time.

Sounds interesting. It might depend on the type of game that we play.

And also, no proficiency in phones is required! The app functions like a texting app plus the ability to roll dice and added privacy settings.

No PC - just iOS and Android.
Looks pretty simple.
Is it plagued with ads?
(I personally love Discord + Beyond20) - but that wouldn't work for mobile, because Beyond20 isn't supported on mobile.

0 ads!
Beyond20 is pretty great!
Free and 0 ads? That's impressive. How can they fetch any money?

They make money by selling "merchandise".

For the game, would another option be to use the play-by-post thing here on Dndbeyond?
I actually recommend a group PM instead since PMs are not affected in case *ahem* “anyone” draws another forum ban.

Smart
Paizo is sponsoring them and you can purchase game systems and modules for a LOT of money

That might be a fun idea! But who’s DMing first?
