I'd like to see a tiny giant, more evil celestials, good fiends, etc. I'd also like to see hybrid types, like a half-construct fiend or something like that.
We have a familiar from the nine hells, the imp. What about familiars from other planes.
I heard there are going to be a bunch of new familiars in the new PHB, including at least one Celestial familiar.
Oh, the celestial one is theSphinx of Wonder. I saw a video on it.
Me too! I think we saw the same video.
Cool. What are your thoughts on it. I like it because not a lot of familiars can speak common.

I think it makes a great familiar for a good aligned warlock. And I like Dungeon Dad’s idea that the sphinx of wonder can eventually evolve into a full fledged androsphinx or gynosphinx as your character gets to be higher in level, becoming more like an NPC companion than a familiar.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
I'd like to see a tiny giant, more evil celestials, good fiends, etc. I'd also like to see hybrid types, like a half-construct fiend or something like that.
I've always wanted to see a miniature giant too. I disagree on the good fiends though.
I think more neutral or good monsters could be cool. Monsters that could provide boons or could be fun to interact with less evil intentions.
Some more surreal creatures could be cool. They don't all have to make a lot of sense.
the vast majority of them are very, very low CR and it’s generally very hard to have lots of variety. The few we have are very good, like redcaps, Quicklings, and my beloved hags, but I personally homebrew certain pre existing creatures to be fey or be hybrid fey, such as trolls being fey-giant and unicorns being fey-celestial. Also Night hags are fey, they always should have been.
But at least in the new monster manual, they’re adding new monsters to every type to round it out and give more higher and lower level monsters to types that lack It, so they’re adding an Archhag! Which is apparently supposed to be around Tarrasque level? I mean, I’m not complaining. Hope they add more hag variants as well, like the Annis, Bheur and perhaps even more new ones.

I never noticed this, but it's true. There are a bunch of archfiends but no archfey or arch-celestials. Strange.
Question: Ehat are your thoughts on the International Space Station being decommissioned?
Wait, that's happening? Why would they do that unless it needs repairs or something political? Isn't that kinda taking a step backwards technologically?

I think it’s just gotten too heavy and could enter a collision course?

Okay, I'm not a scientist, so this might sound stupid af, but can't they just like...take stuff off? Like, do they have to ground the entire multi-billion dollar facility, or could they just remove a few bits and adjust the orbit? Are they gonna be putting up a new one, cos if not, that's a huge debuff to the space science community.

They said they planned to send it ‘out of orbit’ by 2030. They likely are going to take it apart over multiple flights and send pieces into safe descents. I don’t know if they plan to replace it.

NASA has been underfunded for decades. The end of the ISS may or may not be political, but I'm more worried about that than the end of any one project.
Edit: News here. Looks like it will be replaced--by some billionaire somewhere.
Y tho? Can't a fiend get sick of fighting in the blood war?
I've always thought of fiends in Dnd as living embodiments of evil. If that is the case, then they can't really be good. Maybe there could be a way for them to be redeemed, but then I would say they would become celestials. I come from a Christian standpoint and I believe demons do exist and that they are always evil. Fiends in Dnd aren't actually demons, but they are based on them. (Also there isn't a blood war in my games. There isn't much of a difference between demons and devils.)

I guess that's more specific to the belief system you have and the lore you'd set for your worlds. I could easily imagine a fiend in the FR or Greyhawk deciding to abandon the blood war, start a farm somewhere, and actively not want to become a celestial (read: subservient). There's also Crowley from Good Omens, who isn't really evil at all.
I'm motivated a bit by the language of the monster manual that reads (emphasis mine):
Fiends are creatures of wickedness that are native to the Lower Planes. A few are the servants of deities, but many more labor under the leadership of archdevils and demon princes. Evil priests and mages sometimes summon fiends to the material world to do their bidding. If an evil celestial is a rarity, a good fiend is almost inconceivable. Fiends include demons, devils, hell hounds, rakshasas, and yugoloths.

In dnd, fiends such as Devils and Demons are generally defined as former mortals who had their souls twisted after death. A lawful good paladin who makes a deal with a devil to save innocent lives is still good, but they would become a devil in the afterlife. The question is, can this twisting be undone? Is it something that happens automatically, or are fiend's behaviors products of their environments, in which they are so surrounded by depravity that they fall into it?

We need more oozes and more plants.
What types of monsters does D&D 5e lack?
FEY
THERE ARE SO FEW FEY
there are, in total, 3 fey creatures above CR 15.

I like the idea of a risen Demon/Devil. A typically evil being performing such good deeds that they are granted a spot in the upper planes.
