*Alright, character is ready! Instead of just being a regular human, they have some practice in Plunge.*
A woman is walking along a busier street closer to Marino's center, looking around with interest. She wears a long green dress made from thicker fabrics that faintly resembles a trenchcoat. Her grey-brown eyes are faintly obscured by her glasses, which are slightly tinted to better see with in the sun, and her short black hair is worn in a wavy bob haircut. She occasionally looks down at a small map in her right hand, trying to figure out where in Marino leads where. She moved here fairly recently, for reasons no one knows, and is still adjusting to the new environment.
This is Mergo, and no one else knows that she is a wielder of Plunge.

*I'm just gonna make an Appetite Demon from Toriko but as a really big Automatic stand. They're basically the same thing anyway.*
*Just so you know, (Since I haven't gotten around to redoing stand types) Automatic stands aren't always sentient. Automatic stands refer to a stand that only works when a specific criterion is met, then acting in a preprogramed way without direct user input*

[I feel like I should make a post but I've got no idea what. I should probably make another character so I can play someone who isn't the villain, which gives me some more roleplay options, but I'm royally stuck for Stand Ideas. I'm thinking something mundane like a simple ability Stand though, cos I don't want it to define their character (like Emporio's Stand)]

*Oh. I didn't think about that.*
*The villain's stand is What a Wonderful World, right? That one has straight-up mind control relating to the entire situation. This one just changes how this guy alone is perceived, and basic human senses can override it. If he was soaked in gore and wielding a knife, for example, no matter how much he chilled out his aura you would still see him as a possible threat, because his power isn't "everybody chill out," it's "see how chill I am right now." Less mind control, more deception. Not a friend, just part of the furniture*
*But if that's still too similar I can remove the non-threatening ability.*
[I kinda like it actually and don't mind at all that it's similar to Wonderful World. I just love the concept of his power being that he's the chillest (or freakiest) guy alive, like he is a literal human mood]

It's like you described just now: he's either super chill to the point where you barely notice him or care what he does unless you have a specific reason to (so if he bumps into you or punches someone he's caught), or he's such a freak that everyone thinks he's a big threat (so you might suddenly attack him out of Fight reflex).*
*But I can completely switch out the concept is Himy still doesn't like it.*

[I dunno why you keep saying it's the same power when it's fairly different, and we've had Stands with identical/similar powers before *cough Star Platinum and The World, Osiris and Atum, Tomb of the Boom, Hermit Purple and Jonathan's Stand, Little Feet and Goo Goo Dolls cough*, though that isn't the case here. Wonderful World makes it's user always be perceived in a neutral-positive light no matter the circumstances, and Baazle's Stand idea creates an illusory perception that shows the user as either incredibly chill, or incredibly disconcerting, but that illusion can be broken. They're both Stands that mess with the way the user is percieved but that's pretty much the end of the similarities. Not only can Baazle's Stand change the context and tone of the perception, but it can also be broken through. But hey, Himy's the GM for this thread so their say is final, that's just my perception of the situation (geddit?)]

Type: Long-Range (can conjure and fire candy guns for relatively low damage considering that this is shonen-inspired. Or no damage at all, depending on the ammo used)
Power: Dulcefication. Can turn objects into sweets by touching or shooting them. It can also transform creatures, but they remain completely functional and gradually turn back after a few seconds. The sweers can be tough or just as soft as normal sugary treats. Range is 3ft from the point where the target is hit, so for a large object like a wall it may have to be hit hundreds of times before the effect is even relevant for anything other than building code.

*I see where you’re coming from, and here’s my side of it. 1. All those situations you mentioned (except little feet and goo goo dolls) their users have some sort of relation, even then Tomb of the Boom is just 3 of the same exact stand because it’s a shared stand 2. even then I’ve never been a fan of those as I feel they’re too similar. And 3. making the user be seen in a light different from what it truly is, without changing their physical appearance. I just described those two stands in one sentence, at the same time, and I shouldn’t really be able to do that, unless the sentence is like way to broad. For example, if I said: It makes things look different then what they are, that could be said for essentially any illusion based stand*

[I understand that the Stands for most of them are similar but for Stands like Little Feet and Goo Goo Dolls, there's no relation and the only difference is that the way they shrik and how fast it happens, which is way more niche than this power. As a rebuttal, how about this. Write out the powers but swap the word 'perception' for 'temperature' and adjust anything else as necessary, then think of it that way.
Wonderful World: The user is constantly at a cold temperature, no matter what. Baazle's Stand: The user can adjust their temperature to be hot or cold, but is still affected by outside influences
I'd say those two powers are more than different enough, the only comparison is temperature control. So if that's the case, then just switch it back to:
Wonderful World: The user is constantly perceived in a positive way, no matter what. Baazle's Stand: The user can adjust their perception to be positive or negative, but is still affected by outside influences
Now the only comparison is perception control, and I think that is more than different enough too. Also the sentence you wrote was very broad, but I'm not gonna get into that, I just want to show that the powers are different, Tomb Of The Boom and Metallica both control magnetism, King Crimson and The World both manipulate time, Love Train and Wonder Of U both control Calamity, and Wonderful World and Baazle's Stand both control perception]

*I was thinking a very large oni-like stand named Feed the Machine, wielding a power that... well, my idea was that it sort of manipulates its "vibe," so the user could come off as super chill to the point that wild rabbits will walk into their lap, or they could suddenly give off a massively predatory, hostile vibe that causes fear responses in nearby folks... and is so harsh and caustic cracks concrete and rusts metal. This isn't exactly mind control, just changing how the world reacts to him. Intelligent beings can resist the effect if they know what's going on, but that's like choosing to disbelieve an illusion: everything tells you it's real, you just don't believe it because that's what you've decided.*
But then, you're already there, aren't you?
*That would be a Psychological Assault type stand. Also, it's a little too similar to the villain of this part's stand*

But then, you're already there, aren't you?
[I kinda like it actually and don't mind at all that it's similar to Wonderful World. I just love the concept of his power being that he's the chillest (or freakiest) guy alive, like he is a literal human mood]

*That is pretty What a Wonderful World does, but just straight up worse. It makes it so anyone who sees them perceive whatever he does as fine, regardless of how it would normally be seen. So, if he was in that situation, everyone would think "Oh. That's fine".*

*Thank you, but I want it to be apparent that I'm not intending it to work like Wonderful World.
But then, you're already there, aren't you?
*It's a cool concept, don't get me wrong, though I still don't think there should be two different stands with the same powers, and I would think this with anyone, so know I'm not singling you out*

[Oh, and I'm still thinking of a mundane Stand for my character. I'm thinking that they could maybe get their power in the story rather than start with it, but idrk]

*Alright, how about this: *
Stand: Perfectly Sweet
Type: Long-Range (can conjure and fire candy guns for relatively low damage considering that this is shonen-inspired. Or no damage at all, depending on the ammo used)
Power: Dulcefication. Can turn objects into sweets by touching or shooting them. It can also transform creatures, but they remain completely functional and gradually turn back after a few seconds. The sweers can be tough or just as soft as normal sugary treats. Range is 3ft from the point where the target is hit, so for a large object like a wall it may have to be hit hundreds of times before the effect is even relevant for anything other than building code.
But then, you're already there, aren't you?
