Arthilas: You successfully cast haste on yourself. However, since casting the spell cost you an action, you can't use another action this round. So unless you want to use your haste action or try to grapple the shadow next turn, you're only able to move 100 ft. at this time. You can use bonus actions, however. You jump down into the trapdoor, and are met with a very, very long room. It's about 120 ft. long, lined with colors that blur past as you sprint down the room. Luckily for you, the shadow is a lot slower than you are so you're able to catch up with ease. You can't see anything invisible attached to the shadow.
Strange Shadow: Seeing y'all suddenly catch up to it, it screeches loudly and moves 80' ahead of you towards the end of the room! There is an open doorway, leading into another room; and though the long room was dark enough, the next one is even darker. It counts as dim light.
Ea & Bolt: (Assuming your movement is 30') The two of you drop down the trapdoor hole and sprint after Arthilas and the shadow; however you aren't quite fast enough. Arthilas is 40' in front of you, and the shadow is 120' in front of you!
Darklis: (Also assuming your movement is 30') You are easily able to keep in stride with Ea!
Clementine: You find that you can run really well, and almost keep up with Arthilas! The shadow is 90' in front of you, and Arthilas is 10' in front of you!
Totally random d20, nothing for you to worry about: 14

(I'm changing the rules to include bonus actions. So y'all can use an action, and a bonus action on your turn. Also, what's everyone's Constitution check modifier? Not the number, the modifier.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Arthilas was going to use his haste action to grapple the Shadow or dash depending on whether he can reach it without dashing or not.
On his next turm, Arthilas will run after the shadow and attempt.to.grapple it again: Athletics 21 (rolled 25)
If that succeeds, he shoves it, otherwise he attempts to grapple it again: 13 (rolled 23) Athletics.
And finally, he will attempt another grapple or, if the previous grapple succeeded, a shove with his Haste action: 23 (rolled 28) Athletics.
I am waiting with my 3rd round to see what the shadow does and what my allies do.
Edit: If my grapple and shove succeeds, I would like to pull the shadow as close as possible to my allies so that they can attack if they want without having to dash first.
Ohh, okay. I didn't read the whole spell description, so I didn't know you got an extra action for that. My bad!
So just to clarify, you spend 80' of your movement to catch up with the shadow, your normal attack action to grapple it, another action to grapple/shove it (depending on if the previous grapple suceeds), and your extra haste action to grapple/shove it again?
I understand where the last grapple/shove is from, but where does the second one come from?
Also, what's your Con check modifier?

Extra Attack, a grapple or shove can be made in place of an attack. The Haste shove/grapple would only matter if Arthilas fails his other attempts - he wants to suplex it, keeping it grappled and prone on the ground :-) (not attacking yet since it hasn't been hostile so far)

Bolt starts flying while dashing, if that’s ok. If he gets close enough to the shadow, he will use his lightning breath on it.
Damage 20
Dash and Lightning Breath both take actions. And just as a reminder, Arthilas is in melee range of the shadow. That might or might not influence your decision to use an AoE effect.

“Agnomally stay okay!” Clementine dashes after the shadow and uses cunning action to dash again, for 90ft of movement.
I know I’m supposed to go after the shadow, whatever it does this is what I do after. I’m posting this know as I will probably forget later.
“guess where hunting a shadow”
Ea pulls out a spear and uses the dash action

Darklis will dash 2 times (120ft) and try to get ahead of the shadow and block the doorway.
