Mendigo flies over to the door, throwing a rock behind him onto each tile as he passes to see what happens.
Unfortunately the corridor is devoid of rocks - unless you brought some with you, there are none to throw!
Mendigo starts flying - perhaps slower and more stutteringly than you might have expected. There's something interfering with the magic. You over over the first 4 tiles (Piercer, Beholder, Quaggoth, Pseudodagon) when your weapon flickers out and you freefall a good 2 feet, the spell catching you over the fifth tile as the weapon sparks back to a glow. The 5th tile is an Ogre. You can see the next few tiles ahead of you are a Quipper, a Pig, a Raven, and a Quasit.
George, you feel the magic you're using to keep Mendigo airborne is going astray, flickering in and out. Please make an Arcana check to see if you can keep Mendigo afloat!
You can see Mendigo stood about (5 feet per tile so that makes it...) 25ft. into the coridor. Perhaps from your angle you cannot see what tile they are stood on, but Mendigo can see what it is and tell you if they choose to.
Kay, who had not been aware of the darkness’s discomfort, turns her gaze to Angelino.
“So, what can your bird see? Can it tell if there are more than just the six tiles we can make out?”
“Hmm, somethings mucking up the connection I have with it… and don’t just call it ‘my bird’ it’s Antonia. Anyway, there’s definitely more tiles… and a door. We have a door. Now what? I’m fresh out of clever ideas.”
Kay nods, slightly annoyed, to Antonia, "Thank you for trying to help Antonia."
Seeing Mendigo fall, Kay stands up. "That's it, I'm sick of this." She attempts to run along the wall to avoid at least the first tile and land on the Ogre tile with Mendigo.

You run toward the corridor, and start running the wall to get past the first four tiles. You make it past the first two, but you run out of momentum (perhaps your run-up wasn't as good as it needed to be) and drop onto the third tile - the Beholder. You dodge to the side, knowing that something is going to try to kill you here - but nothing does.
As it is now, we have Kay stood on tile 3 and Mendigo on tile 5, being a Beholder and an Ogre. Each tile is 5ft. wide, so Kay is on the third "square" of the corridor and Mendigo is on the fifth.
Kay scratches her head, "Huh, maybe we were seriously overthinking this." She calls back to the others, "Maybe we just have to run across without looking at the slots and holes in the walls?"

”Mendigo! Ask the door - politely - to open!”

Alexander watched this play out. He had debated on whether or not to fly out with Mendigo in case he fell, but is still a but wary of him--memories of fire still fresh in his head. Nevertheless, he is relieved that Mendigo came to no harm upon hitting the tile. “Yes! Ask the door to open!”
Mendigo asks the door - politely - to open. “Door, would you be so kind as to move your hinges in a way that will create a hole in the wall that we may walk through?”
Kay is going to run strait towards the door. She will do so without looking at the wall but will listen for any hits of a trap being set off.

Kay runs straight for the door, and on the fourth tile (Pseudodragon) you hear that clunk that tells you the trap is swinging again. You expertly dodge it with your acrobatics, and make it onto the fifth tile (Ogre), where Mendigo is politely asking the door to open. You step onto the next tile (Quipper) and hear a second clunk. On instinct you go low, and something whistles over your head - you don't see what - and you roll onto the next tile, a Pig, which also Clunks.
You've used up your rolls - please make another Dex save, as another trap is sprung by the tile below you!
Mendigo asks the door - politely - to open. “Door, would you be so kind as to move your hinges in a way that will create a hole in the wall that we may walk through?”
The door (quite rudely, to be honest) doesn't reply. Nothing happens!

Mendigo, you feel the magic flicker and suddenly disappear as you drop those last few feet onto the Ogre tile.
...And nothing happens.

“Well it was worth a try,” Alexander sighs, when the door doesn’t open.
Is there a trap tile in front of the door or do the tiles end?
Exactly what i thought when i rolled them Helmut.
I agree plopped, 15 ain't bad, but it ain't great either! Lets hope my next roll is better!
