A spin on Chult, called Chuult. It's inhabited 100% by Chuul and other aberrations, and instead of trying to stop the Death Plague, characters have to try to stop the Breath Plague, that causes people to be covered in aboleth slime, making it so they can only breathe water.

Not really. My Soul Nuke takes soul coins and ignites all the souls at once, basically causing a giant explosion of force damage.
That's pretty cool and evil. One could imagine some interesting results being able to measure the mass/energy content of a soul!
Well, infernal war machines and Zariel's Flying Fortress are already fueled by souls. They're combustible, so if you pack enough of them into a small enough space, and then ignite them, what could happen? Soul Nuke (Copyright Duke Bel of Avernus).

Is this how you interpreted the secret superweapon he has? That's pretty neat. A fully charged soul coin (containing one soul) can power any infernal machine for 72 hours of continuous use. The largest of the infernal war machines, the demon grinder at 12000 lbs. The nearest vehicle on Earth would be something like one of the larger Ford pickups, with a MPG of 15 on average (being generous). Supposing we run one of these guys continuously for 72 hours at 23 mph, which is slightly above the demon grinder's top speed. Also lets suppose driving at this low speed triples the Ford's gas mileage. Then the Ford would consume roughly 23/45 ~ 1/2 a gallon per hour. A full soul coin then has the same energy of roughly 36 gallons of diesel.

Yep. That's the secret superweapon in my game. A soul nuke. Coincidentally, I had it look like a sphere with a bunch of weird knobs coming out of it, making it almost look like a coronavirus. I made this before I even knew what a coronavirus is. Souls are a very efficient fuel, so if you "refine" them, concentrate them, mix it with a few other magical substances, and ignite it, it can make a terrible explosion in my games. I have a document detailing this more: (https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/ry-qzZNIKr) Let me know if the link doesn't work. It is better explained there, and I don't want to derail the thread.

Man, and here I thought I was being super pedantic about it. This is really neat. Will you be publishing this?

As you can see, it isn't complete. I have been working on it for a few months, but took a break. I will probably publish sometime, most likely on DMsguild. This is the amount of work and thought that I put into slight parts of text and side quests in an adventure. I am the definition of pendantic when it comes to D&D.
That's a bad idea, putting too much work into something that you will likely never run.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea. When I was in middle school, my mom would comment that my friends and I used to spend more time building a game than playing it. That's especially true today when it's difficult to schedule games, but I've individually made a mountain of homebrews. At some point I started to realize that the metagame is still a game, and can quite be fun. I mean I don't think I've played a D&D game above level ten in over fifteen years, but I still get a kick out of designing high-powered games and monsters.
Overthinking isn't necassarily bad, but it is more often pointless than it helps. IDK. If I find the time to publish my ideas in a DMsguild product, maybe it will make me some money.

Adding nuclear weapons to the firearms table.

Don't insult my Soul Nuke, that I actually made for my Descent into Avernus game!

A shoggoth on the roof.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
A very pointy roof it is.

Of course they are finesse weapons and will use DEX for damage and can be used for sneak attack.
That statement can be for either one of the above you want.
