Okay. 1d6 has a maximum roll of 6 and a 1/6 chance to roll it. A fireball spell does 8d6, though, so let's multiply the max roll by 8 and raise the probability to the 8th power, getting 48 damage and a 1/1,679,616 chance to roll it. Impressed yet?
When someone manages that move, that's when you start requiring them to use those oversized jumbo dice to make rolls. I bet they also rolled all 18's on stats too
Oversized jumbo dice? I have a bad dice habit for over 20 years... I've managed to pick up a few over that time when they just happened to be in the shop. Pretty sure you could order them through a local game shop or an online retailer.
I use mine for inspiration tokens. No one remembers they have inspiration until the aftermath and they are rolling up a new character... Usually along the lines of, "Oh, shoot! I forgot I had this and it would have saved my character... <much sobbing ensues>" We all tend to remember them in the moment when there is a huge visual clue on the table. I also have a collection of miniature dice which I have not found a use for except to spend 30 minutes trying to find where it went after you roll them; or debating what number is displayed because the print is too small to clearly make out.
And if they aren't killing themselves, they stubbornly do everything they can to derail a campaign with the idea that if they hit something hard enough a plot will fall out.

2 Fireballs = Boss Kill
Only if they fail both saves and have, on average, 56 HP.

Where do you even find those things anyway?

You seem to be off track, the important thing here is to win.
Maybe, maybe not.

Re: "...the important thing here is to win."
Do you also approach your D&D games with the same philosophy?

I find that to be an act of futility...even on the best intentions the players always manage to screw that up somehow and kill themselves.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
