As far as the concept, it’s still in the really early stage, but it starts with the PC in an isolated yet ordinary village. The players will start off as just regular villagers from this sleepy little town. They can have history from elsewhere and Ineould work to make their backstories and histories work with the world.
You would have your race, ability scores, and background features (going with the 2024 variant with an origin feat), but you don’t start out with any class or subclass features. Your hit points will start out as 12 +3x your Con Mod. You will be proficient with one simple weapon of your choice (I might limit the options a bit more but that’s what I’m going with for now).
The town would end up accosted by a swarm of the Scourge that comes out of no where in the middle of the night. You along with the rest of the town will have to fight off this growing scourge over the next few nights, sort of 7 days to die style. During the day you do things to prepare for the horde that comes in the evening, including trying to figure out where the source of this scourge is coming from. The party would embark on a quest to stop the source, and by doing so are exposed to something that changes them irrevocably. This is what would give the party their class features, but would also reveal a horrible truth to them as well, that leads them on a mission to save the lands from a threat beyond that stretches far greater then their little town.
Sit and survive-style campaigns are difficult to run and keep the interest going. I'd suggest maybe only two or three nights or put in a bunch of established side-quests to do during the day to nudge the players along.
Oh yeah, that’s not going to be the entire campaign. Just the beginning quest.

I would also say that you should add a high powered monster to shove your party along if you need to

I know, but the problem still remains.
Well, potential problem.
A lot of campaigns fizzle out early on, and I don't want that to happen to you.
If you intro a character on one of the adohand's kitchen threads, even something as simple as 'a purple-haired girl with glasses walks into the tavern', you should get the chance to rp pretty quickly

I get you. I plan on working on things for a bit before I ask people to join. I will say I’ve gotten very good at improvising on the fly with my current D&D group so I have that experience to go with.

at least you arent looking like you're flirting
Pronouns: She/Her

Mentally and emotionally unstable, anorexic (currently in remission!), autism, ADHD, anger issues
I don't flirt.
All my love is platonic and I only show it to people who I think would be comfortable being shown affection.
A new person does not fall into that category.
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
Awake, impure, divine

Eh, I have weird interests. I usually mix food and horror for seemingly no reason, for example.
I'm just a weird person in general, but as I think about it, I realize that so is pretty much everyone, right?
This is a place where you can be yourself, and I kind of abuse that to do whatever stupid stuff I want where people won't get upset.

I’ll have to work on the world and things so it might be a little bit before I could start, but I might just do a Play by Post with this idea.
Can someone explain to me how this website works, Flower isn't helpful 🙄 I also don't understand how to play it on a website.
