Thoruk's singing suddenly stops, and when you look around, he's nowhere to be seen. (I'll take this next room, if nobody minds!)
You find yourselves stood in a large room, dominated by a raised circular pool of shimmering water, casting eerie reflection on the ceiling. On the wall behind the pool is a closed door. the walls are rough hewn stone, like a cavern, with a greenish hue to them. Behind you, you see what appears to be a rack of spears sitting in the shadows. The wall surrounding the pool is carved with a dozen creatures heads, all facing upwards with their mouths agape. The room is cold, and damp, the floor under your feet is wet, and your footsteps make echoing slapping noises in the otherwise empty space.
You find that the rack actually contains stacks of 6ft. long metal rods, rather than spears. Each one has a small knob-like handle on the end, and are otherwise unadorned.
George inspects the creature heads, looking for patterns in the types of creatures, things like that. Investigation: 16
There are a dozen creatures heads around the pool, and every one of them facing upwards with their mouths open. You successfully identify each of them as you move around the circular pool:
goblin
ogre
owlbear
panther
fish
magmin
kraken
dragon
lizardfolk
skeleton
warforged
eagle
The carved details are exquisite, though they seem to have the same greenish tint as the walls, which you notice is some sort of plant matter, slick to the touch, like a coating of algea in the carved grooves.
She examines them farther and counts them, then moves to examine the raised pool. She is trying to figure out if they are levers of some kind.
Investigation 10
There are 12 poles, and as you investigate the carved heads you don't see anything on them which might fit the poles - the mouths of some may be big enough, but none of them are round like the poles.
Kay picks up one of the poles then moves to look into the raised pool.
Investigation 17
Perception 23
The pole is heavy in your hands, and you make the fair assumption that it is not hollow - it's about 2 inches in diameter. You notice that it is slightly scored along its length.
The pool seems largely unassuming, the walls and bottom of it covered in a thick layer of green algae. It is about 1ft. deep, despitebeing raised 2-3ft. high.
You notice, as you step back, that there is a hole in the wall beneath the head of the Owlbear beside you, about 2 inches in diameter. Looking to either side, you see that each of the heads has a similar hole on the wall below it.
Kay attempts to place the end of the pole into the hole under the owlbear, twisting it if it doesn't go in easily.
The end of the pole fits into the hole under the owlbear as if it were made for it. You find that it meets no resistance as you slide it into the hole. It's now sitting a few inches into the hole, and hasn't found the end of it.
“Let’s put all of the poles in these holes.” Kay says as she points out all of the holes under the heads. “I think they might all have to placed into them with different amounts sticking out.” She pushes the pole into the hole as far as it will go, then she picks up two more poles and places one in the hole under the magmin and the other under the lizardfolk. Both of these she also pushes in as far as they will go. “We can put them all in like this, then we can pull them out if it seams like we need too.

You push the pole into the hole under the Owlbear, and as you push it all the way in (so only the handle sticks out), there's a gurgling hiss from somewhere below you. A jet of water shoots up from the middle of the pool, arcing over your head, and splattering on the wall behind you in a constant stream.
Alexander, regaining his composure after being used as a tambourine, begins helping with the poles.
You pick up two poles and carry them over to the fountain, your feet splashing in the puddle forming from the jet of water pouring off the wall, to help Kay.
The first goes in under the Magmin, and a second jet of water bursts from the fountain and over your head. As it does so, the other jet seems to reduce in pressure - both jets are now arcing lower over your heads, and are splashing on the floor.
The third pole goes in below the Lizardfolk, which Kay directs you to. A third jet of water arcs up and over you, and the other two lessen again. The floor is now decidedly wet and getting wetter, with a puddle forming at the far end by the rack of poles.

The pole you pick up is fundamentally the same as the one Kay is holding - around 6ft long, and scored along its length.
