Kay places poles under the fish, kraken and lizardfolk. If the water does not go into these heads, she will place the more poles under the magmin, warforged and skeleton. If the water still does not go into the heads, she will place another pole under the dragon.
You place the first three poles, and the jets arc well over your head. When you place the next three, the jets drop down and just splash on their foreheads. Adding the last pole, the jets lessen and drop directly into the mouths of the Fish, Kraken, Lizardfolk, Magmin, Warforged, Skeleton and Dragon, but otherwise, nothing seems to happen.
"Well now we know how many poles need to be used." Kay takes the poles out from under the magmin, warforged and skeleton and places them under the owlbear, panther and eagle.

As you remove the poles, the 4 remaining jets arc further out, splashing into the pool that you're standing in. You put the poles in under the owlbear, panther and eagle, and the jets lessen again and now arc into the mouths of the Fish, Kraken, Lizardfolk, Dragon, Owlbear, Panther and Eagle, where the poles are.
Make me a perception check please?
Just a recap (so I don't have to keep going back to page 116) the heads are:
Stitch reappears and looks around. He sees Svarn and starts planning another way to show off, and then notices everything the others noticed in an instant with his superior intelligence.

Welcome back!
You notice the fountain, which is the main focus for most of the others in the room, with it's 12 heads, 7 of which are currently having water pour into them. You notice the door, and the words on it; "To open this door, you need only offer water to the thirsty". You also notice that your feet and lower legs are very cold and wet, due the water in the room.
I suddenly fall right in front of the fountain and say "Not again".
By the way I read the first 2 pages and then skipped here, so tell me if there is a bottomless pit right in front of the fountain or something.
I cast detect magic
EDIT: I am a winged tiefling who is kind of scary. I assume I fell asleep and woke up here?
EDIT: I notice everyone staring at the fountain and get 17 on perception
EDIT: Dark armor with fire and blade designs, also similiar to the Tiefling from Battle For Beyond episode 2, I got the idea for the race/picture from him.
Kay walks over to the new comer and extends her hand. "Hi, the name's Kay, short for Kayaws. We are trying to figure out what to do with the fountain, heads and poles so that we don't drown." She gestures to the water arcing out of the fountain and into the mouths of the creatures. "We are supposed to offer water to the thirsty or something. Putting the poles under the heads makes the water shoot out of the pool. The amount of poles placed affects the water pressure. I managed to get it to go into the creatures mouths finally, but it doesn't seem to be doing much." She scratches the back of her head and looks around, trying to see if she missed something. "Does anyone think this is doing anything?" She gestures to the poles and the heads.
You notice that there are still ripples in the water on the floor, coming from the fountain. A quick check reveals that two of the heads seem to be overflowing from their mouths, and others are not - the Fish, and the Kraken.

You are probably best reading these posts from this thread to get you up to date:
Also worth noting that the room is flooded at this point, at least a fiit deep, and deeper at the rack of poles. The fountain is currently sending 7 jets into the mouths of the Fish, Kraken, Lizardfolk, Dragon, Owlbear, Panther and Eagle, which each have a pole under them. You also notice that the Fish and Kraken seem to be overflowing, whilst the others are not.
I know I'm not the DM, but can you make a Insight or Persuasion check against passive Intimidation? I'm not sure that you are gonna walk up to a scary tiefling and say hi.
It's up to the players how their characters interact with others, and thus far Kay has gone through several of these rooms, some of which have been pretty unpleasant, so either through stubborn friendliness, obliviousness, or desensitisation, it's unlikely that your looks will be putting her off talking to you! 3 or so rooms ago, she also managed, somehow, to have a heart-to-heart with her mum through the medium of a giant bronze statue set on murdering everyone!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Stitch notices the newcomer, and decides that now has to be the time to pull off his new trick. (If he succeeds the acrobatics check) He suddenly runs towards the wall, and starts running along it. He then backflips off onto the floor, does a handspring towards the edge of the fountain, then dives over it, pulling the poles out of the kraken and the fish, spinning whilst doing so, then lands on the opposite wall, using his claws to keep himself on. “How y’a doing? The name’s Stitch, you are?” he then notices the tiefling and drops himself off the wall, landing in a Spider-Man pose. “What the heck is that thing?!”

Also, I think what I did is right, but I’m not sure. What I am thinking at the moment is that we get the water to go into all of the mouths (I expect by putting poles in all of them), then any that start overflowing we take the poles out, because ‘offer water to the thirsty’ might mean that the ones that overflow aren’t thirsty, as they seemingly have more water in them already, which is causing them to overflow.

“This is annoying!”
Is there a way to rotate the poles in the holes? Harmony is looking to maybe change the heads it hits with rotation.

She’s Kayaws. I don’t think she’s intimidated by anything! :)

“Well, that would make sense. The fish and cracker are overflowing” Angelino will take a few noticeable steps away from the Tiefling.
At least you're noticing how scary he is. I am going to remove the poles or whatever so all of the heads can drink.
