Posted Dec 6, 2025The awakened shrub is very slept on in my opinion. They have one of the strongest stealth abilities in the game. They have an intelligence of 10. They can speak. Meaning, they have the ability to cast verbal spells if taught how.
Imagine walking through the forest and a couple shrubs ambush you. They get a surprise round unless you have a weapon of warning or the alert feat. They can't be seen unless they move so they use ranged weapons instead like rocks or maybe crossbows they have stolen. They have prepared traps like a pit trap in the road or a falling tree. And if they have the ability to cast spells it adds so much more danger. But they are dangerous enough without spells if you get creative.
