Berserk. Whenever the golem starts its turn with 40 hit points or fewer, roll a d6. On a 6, the golem goes berserk. On each of its turns while berserk, the golem attacks the nearest creature it can see. If no creature is near enough to move to and attack, the golem attacks an object, with preference for an object smaller than itself. Once the golem goes berserk, it continues to do so until it is destroyed or regains all its hit points.
The golem's creator, if within 60 feet of the berserk golem, can try to calm it by speaking firmly and persuasively. The golem must be able to hear its creator, who must take an action to make a DC 15 Charisma (Persuasion) check. If the check succeeds, the golem ceases being berserk. If it takes damage while still at 40 hit points or fewer, the golem might go berserk again.
Aversion of Fire. If the golem takes fire damage, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks until the end of its next turn.
Immutable Form. The golem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.
Lightning Absorption. Whenever the golem is subjected to lightning damage, it takes no damage and instead regains a number of hit points equal to the lightning damage dealt.
Magic Resistance. The golem has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Magic Weapons. The golem's weapon attacks are magical.
Multiattack. The golem makes two slam attacks.
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.
Description
A flesh golem is a grisly assortment of humanoid body parts stitched and bolted together into a muscled brute imbued with formidable strength. Powerful enchantments protect it, deflecting spells and all but the most potent weapons.
So it is just Frankinstine's monster.
Basically, hence the absorption of electricity and weaknesses to fire.
Can player characters make creatures like these? And if so how?
If they get the right kindof Manual of Golems they can make one.
Thank you!
Actually, Frankenstein's monster wasn't mindless like the Golem is, but he was of a rather low INT, say a 5 or so. A Golem is truly just a robotic type of creature.
the (flesh) golem has an intelligence of 6 tho
Theoretically with enough of these a tarrasque would go down fairly quickly, as these have magical attacks, and the tarrasque resists weapon damage ONLY from non-magical sources........can any dms confirm?
Since the golems will only hit on an 18+ on the dice and the terrasque can kill 2-4 per turn (one swallowed, 2 or 3 beat to death with the other weapons and legendary actions) I would say it would take an absurd number of flesh golems to deal the 650+ dmg necessary to kill it.
For every twenty flesh golems, there will be 3 hits per round for about 50 damage losing 3.5 golems a turn. I would guess it would take 100 flesh golems to even have a chance.
I hear that there are books (in game) for how to make a golem. they take a lot of money and time (the amount changes between type of golem, but the average is probably 70,000 gp and 1 week). once those are put in, and you have the body (flesh, stone, metal, e.t.c), the golem awakens and the book destroys itself.
Where is the damage absorption trait. The dungeon masters guide says they have it.
Nvm i understand it now
Frankenstein's monster was actually quite intelligent. Hes essentially a newborn though and had to teach himself everything while hiding in the woods.
That's the whole point of the novel, the monster is more human than the doctor that created him.
Super Easy to kill (if you're eleventh level)
Making undead? Who, me? It’s just a golem....
What if a player attempts to turn themselves into a flesh golem? Would they be in control or will nothing have control over them, would they have all their memories and how would that happen?
tl;dr, is turning yourself into a golem a good substitute for becoming a lich?
Incorrect. The Creature was well read, cunning and sharp-minded, easily possessing an INT score of 15 or 14.
Vic was a dick.
we're fighting one of these in our Descent into Avernus campaign, and it just keeps stitching itsself back together.
How is it immune 2 nonmagical bludgeoning piercing and slashing from non adamantine weapons? It’s just a Brainwashed Frankenstein on steroids!
What a cool monster!
