Amphibious. The frog can breathe air and water.
Standing Leap. The frog's long jump is up to 20 feet and its high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 11). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the frog can't bite another target.
Swallow. The frog makes one bite attack against a Small or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the frog, and it takes 5 (2d4) acid damage at the start of each of the frog's turns. The frog can have only one target swallowed at a time. If the frog dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 5 feet of movement, exiting prone.

Posted Mar 31, 2022The chances of killing a demilich through swallowing are pretty slim. The swallow attack barely does any damage.
Edit: I realized a monster can't escape by dealing damage to you, and there is no escape DC. So the demilich won't be able to get out of the frog's stomach, and it will suffer a slow and painful death. Wait, it was already dead.

Posted Apr 6, 2022How 'bout a GNOME beastmaster ranger. You get to ride your frog. That Standing Leap feature will really negate a lot of terrain difficulties. And in Lost Mine of Phandelver, where you will be fighting a lot of goblins, your frog can swallow them. Remember that it can only swallow one creature at a time, and it also takes two full turns for the frog to fully swallow somebody. Nevermind, two bite attacks should be enough to kill a goblin.

Posted Jan 24, 2024I'm running the Frozen Sick campaign and the link to the "Giant Ice Frogs" leads here, but there is nothing about ice in this. Is there another creature I'm supposed to be aware of?
