Traits
Telepathic Bond. While the homunculus is on the same plane of existence as its master, it can magically convey what it senses to its master, and the two can communicate telepathically.
Actions
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 1 piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is instead poisoned for 5 (1d10) minutes and unconscious while poisoned in this way.
Does this game have two different things named homunculus? That's confusing.
Yes it does... this homunculus is the original and is the one created by wizards using a 6th spell.
the Artificer infusion is slightly different and has different stats
First off this is not the artificer's homunculus. please look in the infusions or in Homunculus Servant stat block for that one. (surprise it doesn't have the telepathic Bond. so its not as good as the pact of the chain or the spell
Have fun with it. artificers still can do some really fun combos but unless your homunculus is close enough to give orders to... you cant doe this cool ability
Could you milk the venom out of one of these buggers by RAW? or is that a DM call?
Under the Monster's Manual description of the Homunculus it has the Shared Mind "feature" and the first line is as follows: "A homunculus knows everything its
creator knows, including all the languages the creator can speak and read." Does this include all the skills/tools proficiencies that the creator has? If so can someone please direct me to where this is stated or clarified?
I would say yes as they are friendly to you and will do whatever you want them to. The only real question would be, how long is the poison good/effective after it is milked?

Wait. Homunculus is a construct? It seems pretty alive to me.
The major grey area is that the description says nothing about being able to interact with objects, including doors or windows, so its movement might be easily restricted.
A homunculus is a construct, which typically don't have a life span; so the answer to your question is most likely indefinitely unless it is destroyed.
So the homunculus is listed as a 10 Intelligence but it states "A homunculus knows everything its creator knows" if it was created by a wizard with a 20 Intelligence does it gain a 20 Intelligence as well?
What about tool proficiencies and skills? It gains language why not those too?
Does it get weapon or armor proficiencies from it's creator?
What about class features or spells?
Surely some of those things fall under "Everything it's creator knows" right?
You could always just homebrew it to be able to talk, or is that illegal now?
Quick question, if the homunculus knows EVERYTHING WE KNOW, wouldn't that make it a caster? Like I could totally get it a spell book at that point since the homunculus is essentially you but in a special form. Thoughts?
Yes is can use magic or non-magical weapons as well as items that don’t have special requirements however it can have items that require attunment
I don't think I would be disappointed if my child came out looking like this ..
Just saying.
Ima give my pet homonculi weapons and armour

Why are people saying that you can use the homunculus's senses? it says it conveys what it senses and speaks telepathically, not that you can use its senses as your own. You don't see what it sees and hear what it hears like the familiar, it just tells you what it sees and hears. At least that's my understanding from the word convey.
Also, I think somebody said it could speak and no, it clearly states it can't in the languages part of this stat block.
Sort of, and even then, only maybe. First, it can't speak, meaning spells with verbal components can't be cast. Material components it can't hold in its hands also can't be used (to my knowledge no spellcasting focus is small enough to be used by a tiny creature). The question would be, then, what makes a creature able to be a spellcaster (a wizard specifically, in this case)? Gojng from what a PC needs to multiclass into a Wizard, you'd need an intelligence score of 13, but it would be debatable whether the homunculus needs such a score because the Intelligence is probably needed to retain this knowledge, but the homunculus already has that knowledge.
You’d think for 1000 gp it would be a bit stronger
