Posted Oct 1, 2020I shall clarify myself. I meant that a kobold with enough innate magic to manifest any innate magical abilities or resistance, is uncommon.
They are more likely to have the innate magical potential than many other races, and value it more highly. Kobolds regard sorcerers similarly to how humans and dwarves regard clerics and Paladins.

Posted Oct 1, 2020Funnily enough, in many settings (including Forgotten Realms) Dragonborn are an alternate universe version of Kobolds.
Not sure if this info will be helpful by now, but to save others a wiki search: they weigh about 30 lbs. They are even small than gnomes, and some sources say they have bird-like bones.
Yah, they’re really weak. It’s actually kinda hard not to take one down in a single hit.
That’s why they’re such a big deal, it’s considered feat of dungeon/trap designing skill for a GM to challenge his players with such weak monster.
Usually between 200 and 500 adults (most of which can be mustered to its defense), although a tribe could grow into the thousands under favorable circumstances.
Kobolds reproduce even more quickly than kobolds, easily doubling the tribe’s size in just a few months. Their only limiting factor is food (and they can eat many things other races consider inedible).

Posted Jan 29, 2021It's better than an ogre's, at least. I'd say it's more of a natural talent than a learned skill, at least for them.
I recall lore where, early on, Tiamat was being harassed, so she hatched one of her eggs prematurely, bringing forth the kobold god. He then built traps for her lair to deal with intruders.

Posted Feb 1, 2021Question: If they have such an aptitude for trap building, why does the statblock show absolutely no sign of it? I mean, they have low wisdom and intelligence and no traits that reflect trap-building.
