 I don't know where you got this idea but as per my EMS training, there are four routes which poisonous chemicals enter one's body: injection (as in the case of a snake), inhalation, absorption (usually from your skin or eyes), and ingestion. Technically speaking though, you're right but only in the meaning that poison is subjective and based on its victim; it might harm or kill a person but not, for instance, a yuan-ti.

Could somebody confirm for me please what it means by "Taking 5 (2d4) poison damage"?
Surely it doesn't mean 5*(2d4) because then why wouldn't it just say 10d4? 

5 is the average of a 2d4 roll - to save time in combat a DM might use this instead of rolling dice.

i used this  to be a helper in dnd game as a group familiar some how i manged to get the all of  group to nearly die

It's OK guys it's only "Poisonous" not "Venomous". As long as we don't eat the snake we shouldn't suffer any poison damage.

While it is ultimately up to your DM, the snake doesn't leave behind any sort of form after it dies, so I'd assume not, and if you were able to do that it'd be kinda broken to have a fang farm like that

kind of broken how you can have summon familiar with the sage origin. little bit of extra dps doesn't hurt

Love how we are both in the same boat here. Also idk about you, but if I were a dm I probably wouldn't allow it, since that seems a bit busted. Like an infinite money glitch or smth haha. Always ask your actual dm about this sorta thing first though.
