Keen Senses. The pseudodragon has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight, hearing, or smell.
Magic Resistance. The pseudodragon has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Limited Telepathy. The pseudodragon can magically communicate simple ideas, emotions, and images telepathically with any creature within 100 feet of it that can understand a language.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 11 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target falls unconscious for the same duration, or until it takes damage or another creature uses an action to shake it awake.

Posted Feb 8, 2023Is it possible to resist there telepathy for a normal person? Because would be fun to have one trained to show images of people cutting there teeth with nail clippers, with its image property. It would go straight into the brain unavoidable and do psychic damage.

Posted Mar 12, 2023What AnselMerric said.
I am running an LMoP adventure and the party came across a pseudodragon in Neverwinter Wood that they befriended. He's a total goofball and became a valued NPC, helping save their bacon more than once. One of the party members was doing everything she could to gain its lifelong trust. But during the last chapter (level 4 characters), the party was hit with a fireball and the poor pseudodragon (even with its magic resistance) was insta-killed (32 damage fireball, halved to 16; per RAW "you die if the remaining damage equals or exceeds your hit point maximum"). She was devastated (I was pretty bummed, too), carefully collecting his remains in hope of somehow reviving and reconnecting his spirit (she is a very talented cleric/healer of dwarven stock).
As the DM, I would like a semi-plausible reason/process/quest(?) that would allow the party and my player to somehow get him back. So I am soliciting ideas if anyone would be willing to help!

Posted Jun 30, 2023Thinking, the stinger might actually be really good with a chainlock. Sure its a con save against poison, but the wording does not include "if the target fails by 5 or more, while poisoned the target is..." it just says that the target is that when they fail by 5 or more regardless of whether they have the poisoned condition, so you can knock out creatures immune to the poisoned condition.
