Multiattack. The wyvern makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its stinger. While flying, it can use its claws in place of one other attack.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage.
Stinger. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 10 ft., one creature. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage. The target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, taking 24 (7d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Description
Cousins to the great dragons, wyverns have two scaly legs, leathery wings, and a sinewy tail topped with a poison stinger that can kill a creature in seconds.

Posted Nov 5, 2023"My DM improvised and decided that wyvern milk was a thing, you kinda have to harvest some from a wyvern nest and try your best to make it out alive."
Milk from a non-mammal? Some animals do have it but interesting choice.

Posted Nov 5, 2023You know you can simply choose to grapple instead of making an attack right? Every creature that has any kind of graspers can do it.
Not that there's anything wrong with your idea. It does go against the normal conventions, monsters with grappling attacks usually apply that grapple on a hit with no chance to prevent it. It also raises the question of what it's escape DC is. Does it stay the same or does the wyvern roll an athletics check? Monsters usually have a fixed escape DC to simplify and reduce randomness.

Posted Mar 14, 2024Definitely the Ancient Red Dragon. It will always save on the con save, will always hit them outside of a nat 1, it can frighten the wyverns and is almost never going to be hit due to it's 22 ac.

Posted Apr 16, 2024At our next session, our crew will face a cranky wyvern. I am a (black scale) dragonborn druid, and also in the team we have a tiefling bard, an elven paladin and a human rogue. I was wondering if there are any particular weaknesses that wyvern have. I am aware that their 2 primary attacks from from their deadly stinger and impressive jaws. Not to mention their claws. They do love to pick things up then drop them from great height!

Posted May 13, 2024When in doubt when feeding a dragon: Meat, preferably fresh and lightly effected by equivalent breath weapon. (chilled meats for baby whites, lightly seasoned with deadly poison for greens, barely charred for reds, etc.)
Since wyverns do not appear to have a breath weapon, just use fresh meat, still bloody.

8/10. Cool fight, took an hour of planning, 3 minutes of fighting, almost died.
