Description
Thousands of years ago, a Royal Winter Wolf-Human was born. Her name was Yukiya. She was treated like a princess to every Winter Wolf-Human around her, and her father eventually passed down the secret of Wisdom to her, as this "secret of Wisdom" would give her access to power required to rule the kingdom of which she didn't have. Her twin brother, Yukiyo, urged her to tell him the secret before she was sent off to claim the power, and she denied every request. Yukiyo, furious, went to see a powerful and greedy human wizard and told him to curse his sister to a terrible fate. The wizard already had one in mind, and told Yukiyo that the fate he'd come up with was quite extreme and told him to visit again after a week to confirm his choice. Yukiyo visited a week later, and Yukiya was cursed to fall asleep 'til death(or if the spell was undone)on the day she would set out. Yukiyo regretted his choice, and sealed her away below the lowest palace floors. He then disappeared, however much later investigation greatly suggests he committed suicide out of deep grief. The king, deeply sorrowful, had another female child, and, starting with her, he swore every firstborn Royal Winter Wolf female child would be named Yukiya, and every firstborn Royal male to be named Yukiyo to honor his two late twin children for eternity.
Wisdom-Secret Descendants
She is Yukiya, but not the original one; she is a descendant, named the original one's name due to the original one's father swearing a Female Royal Winter Wolf-Human would be named Yukiya if they were firstborn(Yukiyo will be released eventually, but that day is not today). Due to being a descendant to Yukiya(the twin given the wisdom gift), she is more wise than normal Winter Wolves and Humans. However, you mainly look like a Winter Wolf, and despise humans due to cursing the original Yukiya to sleep forever. You are not a Winter Wolf-Human, as the two races separated after Yukiya's "mysterious" eternal slumber and no longer wanted to interact and create hybrids.
Lair and Lair Actions
Yukiya often hides in abandoned palaces that have been abandoned to the icy winds of the arctic.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 19 (losing initiative ties), Yukiya takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Yukiya can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- Yukiya can call any nearby Winter Wolves as long as they are within the area of the palace.
- Yukiya has control of the ruined palace she can live in. If you kill one in the palace, the palace begins to crumble and does a last-ditch attempt to kill you, and aims all the falling parts of the palace towards your party. If it's about to fall on a party member, the party member must make a DC15 Dexterity saving throw to escape the falling palace part. If failed, they must make a DC18 Strength saving throw to see if the member can hold the part long enough to escape. If successful, the party member's normal speed is lowered by 5ft and they have disadvantage on the next saving throws to hold up/escape the falling palace part. If failed, on top of the previous effects, they take 2d8 Force damage.
Regional Effects
The region containing a Yukiya’s palace is often mostly wolf-scented, which creates one or more of the following effects:
- Winter Wolves are patrolling almost every step of the Arctic/Mountain they are in. They will attack without hesitation if they do not see a wolf-related companion within your party.
- Yukiya has full control of the Winter Wolves within the region. She can also sense if you kill one, and every time you kill one, the palace she lives in grows more and more secure with her dispatching more Guards, however, she always has one by her side.
If Yukiya dies, these effects fade over the course of 20 days.
