Description

A Zeteniel has a large Monitor lizard body, the talons of a deinonychus, the head and neck of a snake, and the tail of a crocodile. Underneath this fearsome appearance however, is the loyalty of a Kalaro or a dog.

After the failure of the Xirikiet, the Mage Guild of Wyvitira tried again to make a creature to guard its many secrets, and this time they succeeded. The Zeteniel was everything they had hoped for from the Xirikiet and more, able to cast spells and be a great battlefield supporter as well. The process by which they were created is not very well understood, though it’s believed that several different rituals were involved.

They have become popular and beloved enough that the guild now has a dedicated breeding program for them, and when a mage reaches journeyman status, they are usually given one of these as a companion. Anyone found guilty of abusing these creatures is expelled from the guild, usually permanently. Oddly enough, Zeteniels seem to love the taste of cheeses.
