Innate Spellcasting. The drow’s spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 11). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: dancing lights, poison spray, thorn whip, frostbite

1/day each: darkness, faerie fire

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the drow has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Actions

Multi-Attack: Ysvrayl makes two attacks.

Scimitar of Speed. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d6 + 7) slashing damage. Once per turn, Ysvrayl may use a bonus action to attack with the Scimitar of Speed.

Hand Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d6 + 5) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 hour. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the target is also unconscious while poisoned in this way. The target wakes up if it takes damage or if another creature takes an action to shake it awake.

CantWhip. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1D4 + 6) slashing damage. On a successful hit, use a bonus action to cast a cantrip on the attack target.

Description

Ysvrayl is an albino drow cast out from Menzoberranzan. Unable to survive the harsh sunlight of the surface world, he has laid claim to the Sunless Citadel. He bides his time acting as a point of contact with various slave traders gathering worker chatel for the dark elves deeper below. His dealings with surface dwellers have allowed Ysvrayl to amass many servants and magic items which he hopes to leverage for revenge against those who cast him out.

Lair and Lair Actions

Ysvrayl rules the Sunless Citadel from the Dragon Throne, a carved seat shaped like a dragon at the West end of an ancient, decrepit throne room. If Ysvrayl enters combat while on the same level as the throne room, he may summon dark elf servants once per turn.

Roll a D6 and summon a creature based on the results below:

1: 2 Drow

2: Drow Elite Warrior

3-4: Drow Mage
