Fungal Connection: The Zaalstrider can communicate telepathically with any fungus or plant creature within 120 feet of it. It can ask questions or receive information about the surrounding environment, such as nearby creatures, hazards, or safe paths through the swamp. This ability represents its deep connection with the flora of its habitat.

 

Fungiflower Guide. If a creature observes a Zaalstrider for at least 1 minute, the Zaalstrider can lead them to the nearest fungiflower patch. The Zaalstrider must make a successful DC 15 Wisdom (Animal Handling) check to guide the creature safely.

Actions

Multiattack. The Zaalstrider makes two attacks: one with its Toxic Claws and one with its Sharp Beak.

Toxic Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (3d10 + 3) slashing damage plus 10 (3d6) poison damage. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned for 1 minute. The poisoned target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Sharp Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 3) piercing damage.

Long legs, purple and blue body. Shaped like a dragon kinda. Glides over the water. Usually harmless. Has toxic claws and a sharp beak. Sips nectar. Can lead you to fungiflower patches if observed.
