Traits

Invertebrate. The octopus does not have a skeleton other than its beak, and therefore can do amazing things. It can fit through any hole large enough for a tiny creature, and has advantage on all checks to escape being grappled. In addition, all attack rolls against it have disadvantage.

Unusual Nature. The octopus doesn’t require air, water, food, or sleep.

Actions

Multiattack. The spider makes three Ethereal Tentacle attacks and one Beak attack.

Ethereal Tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 25 (3d12 + 8) force damage.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (4d8 + 8) piercing damage plus 39 (6d12) poison damage.

Bonus Actions

Gigantify/Shrink. The octopus either shrinks down to the size of a Tiny creature or returns to its true Gargantuan form. In its Tiny form, it can only use its Bite attack and has disadvantage on all strength checks.

Description

Very rarely, the souls of many sea creatures come together to form a skeleton octopus. These beasts are often underestimated or ignored, due to the fact that most of their body is invisible. A skeleton octopus is an immensely curious beast, and prefers often to shrink down into a smaller form in order to stealthily observe the world around it. Skeleton octopuses are smart creatures, but unfortunately are unable to speak any language. A skeleton octopus' beak can inject a powerful venom, similar to that of a blue-ringed octopus. Skeleton octopuses have an innate hatred to most large seafaring ships, as the animal souls that form them were often slain for food or sport by similar vessels.
