Traits
Flyby. The hippogriff doesn’t provoke an Opportunity Attack when it flies out of an enemy’s reach.
Actions
Multiattack. The hippogriff makes two Rend attacks.
Rend. Melee Attack Roll: +5, reach 5 ft. Hit: 7 (1d8 + 3) Slashing damage.
Why? Why two rends instead of beak and claws? DM will not be able to process that?
Harry Potter anyone?
Gained one hit die, increasing health from 19 to 26.
Lost Keen Sight, as did everything else, but didn't gain expertise in Perception like some did. Gained the Flyby trait, which is always irritating to fight against, and fun to run.
Damage was actually decreased from an average of 8 piercing and 10 slashing to 14 slashing.
I'm not exactly sure how I feel about these changes. On one hand, it can take a few more hits and you don't provoke opportunity attacks while flying. On the other hand, it lost combat prowess. I think I'll use fusion.
Fusion time! Swap out for the attacks of the old one. for higher DPS, but that is it.
