Controller. The zerg overlord exerts control over the zerg creatures. It allows for the creation of:

  • 4 medium,
  • 2 large, or
  • 1 huge

zerg creatures (not counting larva, eggs, or other overlords.

Actions

Load: The overlord can allow other zerg inside to ferry them around. It has enough space for 2 large creature, 4 medium, or 8 small creatures.

Unload: The overlord disgorges some of the zerg held inside. It can release 1 large, 2 medium, or 4 small creatures.

Spread Creep: The overlord begins to secrete large amounts of zerg creep. It is incapacitated while doing so. The creep spreads 10ft per round up to 50ft away.

Description

The zerg have been altered to not allow the creation of more zerg creatures without the presence of overlords. The psionic bonds between these creatures are still under observation. While their own psionic abilities seems small, they act as immensely powerful relays for the controller of the swarm.

Distance seems to have no impact on their abilities to control zerg, as long as the overlord is part of the hive, and on the same plane, more zerg can be morphed.
