Cold Breath (Recharge 5–6). Constitution Saving Throw: DC 13, each creature in a 20-foot Cone. Failure: 30 (8d6) Cold damage. Success: Half damage.
Runner and Leaper. Once per turn, the young Snovingar can use its bonus action to do one of the following:
-
Leaping Bound. The Snovingar jumps from a standstill to clear an obstacle up to 10 feet high and 10 feet wide, using its developing wings to stabilize and extend its reach.
-
Swift Dash. The Snovingar moves up to its speed again, as if it had taken the Dash action.
Description
In the endless white of the eternal ice, a serpentine creature glides through the skies—the Snovingar. Its body winds gracefully and long across the heavens, usually over five meters, with especially large specimens reaching up to seven. It is cloaked in fine scales that shimmer silvery-white like frozen light. Delicate feathers line its spine and the withers of its powerful limbs. Most striking are its wings: vast, filigree, and intricately veined. The thin-looking skin appears semi-transparent, laced with frost-tipped edges and metallic-shimmering veins.
The Young Snovingar. At approximately six weeks old, the Snovingar begins to noticeably outgrow its infant stage. Its eyes are now open, allowing it to observe the world with a curious, cautious gaze. Though still unable to fly, it uses its developing wings to assist in powerful leaps and agile movement.
In water, however, its growing wings have become more of a hindrance, making swimming less efficient than before. On land, the young Snovingar compensates with remarkable agility: it uses its wings to execute sharp turns while running or to catch gusts of wind that help accelerate its stride.
Until it becomes fully flight-capable, young Snovingars range in size from 1.5 to 2.8 meters in length. Their energetic movements and expanding wingspan often make them appear larger than they truly are. Snovingars hatch in small clutches of 2 to 4 eggs and are rarely found alone.
