D&D Beyond is excited to announce the release of the all-new, consolidated D&D Beyond App! Gone are the days of two separate apps: we’ve combined the power of the D&D Beyond toolset with new mobile features to make your Dungeons & Dragons 5th-edition games more accessible and more fun. The app is available to download for free on iOS and Android.
The toolset makes it easier to reference D&D content, with features ranging from a guided character creation, dynamic character sheets and spell management, plus the ability to search and bookmark books in your library. The app is the perfect mobile solution for every D&D player — whether you’re a new player, a veteran campaigner, or legendary Dungeon Master.
Play with Advantage
Mobile character creation is easier with the character builder tool walking you through every step of the character creation process. You’ll never have to enter a game without your character sheet again — access your characters online or offline and be ready for skill checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or whatever twists your DM throws at you. Manage your character's health, abilities, spells, and inventory.
Forgot your dice? Roll directly in the app with themed digital dice sets!
Dungeon Masters will enjoy the ability to easily access monster stat blocks and game rules in the D&D Beyond App. Bookmark your favorite monsters or frequently used rules, search spells, and gaze longingly over your backlog of characters you'd love to play (some day, maybe...).
What if I already own the Player App or Reader App?
Adventurers who have the D&D Beyond Player App will simply need to update the app to access the new tools! If you are using the D&D Beyond Reader App, you'll need to migrate over to the new app.
Cool! Could we get a way to organize our books as well? I’d like to push undownloaded stuff to the bottom (some things came with bundles but are not of interest) and I would like to separate rulebooks from adventures. If there’s already a way to sort the library, the feature is too hidden.
Will my content still be available when I’m offline?
This has nothing to do with having the books. I own all the 5e books I need, yet I can't access the info on the "official" website/app - hence calling it a paywall
Does it include a finished encounters feature. A go to for DMs would be awesome.
You have the paper print edition of the books, sold by Wizards. The app uses the digital edition of the content, sold NOT by Wizards but by DnD Beyond/Fandom. It is a different company. I know, it's confusing, cause their names are so similar (well, it has DnD in it) (well, one of them has) (actually, it's not that similar, why do people still confuse them?!). Your grief is with Wizards for not giving free access to their content on third party sites/apps with your purchase of the print edition (even if you bought it on amazon, or second-hand). Please take your complain to Wizards for not giving you free access to third party content on third party sites/apps with your purchase.
I am stoked to be able to really optimize my game using this app. As a player and a DM, this looks promising!
One question, when?
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!
So... The Day Has Finally Come.
YES! FINALLY! no more of going to the website to modify my characters... Thanks devs!
Now if only we could get codes packaged with physical books to get the digital copy as well...
hard to justify spending double the money on the same book.
Please contact Wizards, as they are the ones printing and selling the physical books... :)
Can’t wait till it’s there
Neat! Any word on d&d beyond's vtt project?
Will I lose all the bookmarks I have from the reader app in the migration?
SWEEEEETTTTT!!!!!
Amazing! Now all we need is a voice/video chat system and integrated virtual battlemaps and then DND Beyond will be ~perfection~
Looking forward to it. Sweet!
This is amazing!
You do realise that DND beyond is NOT wizards of the coast, and that they are a separate PUBLISHER for them right?
IE just because you have the books, doesn't mean jack unless you bout it from DND beyond.
