Posted Dec 4, 2022I could’ve sworn this was a necromancy spell. Was it updated?

Posted May 31, 2023You shouldn't allow them to reattach body parts. The Regenerate spell allows you to do this. My players once tried to get this past me with one of them casting this spell on another player that lost his arm(don't ask) and said that his arm should have grown back. I showed them this spell and Regenerate spell and went on about how the spell explicitly states that it regenerates broken limbs and Cure Wounds doesn't. Eventually, though, the guy got an Armblade magic item, so...good times. Druid got regenerate, guy didn't want it.

Posted Mar 1, 2024I think Healing Word is a better choice most of the time. Cure Wounds heals more on average, but Healing Word's range and bonus action casting time make it a lot more versatile.

Posted Jun 17, 2024"When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st."
Level 4 is three slot levels above Level 1, so the healing increases by 3d8, for a total of 4d8 (plus the caster's spellcasting ability modifier).

Posted Aug 16, 2024Okay so it has Somatic components….. if you’re carrying a limp body, could you cast cure wounds on them while you carry them? Or would you have to release the body to use your hands for the component

Posted Feb 14, 2025For Rangers and Druids this now competes with Goodberry a bit more. Even with a +2 mod the average for Cure Wounds is now 11 (previously 6.5) and 14 with a +5.
Granted Goodberry is still a guaranteed 10hp with rest casting potential, but this makes me think twice about which to take.

Posted Aug 2, 2025That's true but healing word has range while cure wounds is a touch spell so it's more convenient for healing during combat
