Is there an option to create standard Weapons. Like a Kanabo - 1d8 Bludgeoning, 1d10 Versatile. Same stats as a battle axe but change damage to bludgeoning.
Unfortunately there is not currently. It has been requested multiple times, and I think it's on the loooong term roadmap, but I wouldn't expect it any time soon. (And I say that as someone who would very much like to see it happen)
Warhammer is 1d8 bludgeoning with versatile. You can also take a weapon with otherwise correct options and change the damage type.
Ah, I didn’t realize that changing damage type was fixed: once upon a time the only damage option was radiant for that. Thanks for pointing out that works now!
Here we are in 2022 and I find this trying to make a Ball & Chain weapon with 1d10 Bludgeoning damage Heavy, Reach, Two-Handed so I base it off of a Halberd but I cannot change its damage type from slashing to bludgeoning... Has this fix been removed since?
I just tried to edit a mundane halberd and also could not change the damage type. If you make a magic item with "unknown rarity" you can add a modifier and "Replace Damage" with the type of your choice using a halberd as the base weapon.
I dont know if I've created it correctly... I cannot find it when trying it add it to inventory. Never tried this before. Do you mind doing an ELI5 for me? The whole process?
As far as crafting homebrew magic items, you want a step-by-step? I'm not familiar with the term EL15 sorry.
If that's what you're asking for I can do that sure. I'm not a master persay but have made enough I feel comfortable explaining something simple like this yeah!
Like a step by step to achieving my goal. To make a with 1d10 Bludgeoning damage Heavy, Reach, Two-Handed weapon that I can put on one of my characters.
I see your weapon buy cannot add it to my collection. Not a DM subscriber. Just a player
Step One: Click on "Create Magic Item" - and then "Create from Scratch" Step Two: Enter the Name "Ball and Chain" Step Three: Select Rarity "Unknown" (or whatever it needs to be for your needs) Step Four: Base Item Type "Weapon" Step Five: Base Weapon "Glaive" Step Six: Type up the description of the item Step Seven: Click "Create Magic Item" and let it load the next page Step Eight: Click "Add Modifier" when it loads select Modifier Type "Replace Damage Type", Modifier Subtype "Bludgeoning", Click Save Step Nine: Add to your character's inventory and equip to ensure you have set it up correctly
I am sure there are other ways to achieve this (and if so someone let me know!) but this is how I made the item you are using now :)

You missed a step between Eight & Nine. After you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew you MUST re-save the entire thing using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information or the system won’t pick up your changes. After that it can sometimes take up to 20 minutes for those changes to push through to the character builder/sheet.

I did go ahead and test out my method and since I did the effort, thought I'd just publish it anyways lol
You can use this here if you don't wanna make one yourself!

Oh just so happens that my subscription had run out. Didn't notice that. Got back on a new sub.
I've added your Ball and Chain to my collection but when I try to add it to a character it just is not available...
Oh. Have to enable homebrew on my own characters for my own homebrew items :)
You just need to add the modifier Replace Damage Type, and for subtype pick the damage type you want instead.
If you want more assistance with making homebrews, post in the Homebrew Forum. Plenty of folks there know what they're doing.
