Is this possible? I'm not seeing a way on my end to actually change the weight of the coins. In a game I'm playing the DM has Skyrim rules with regards to coins, AKA, they weigh nothing and has been rather liberal with the rewards we've been getting, especially when we go above and beyond. However we're at the point now where the coins are taking up a very large portion of our carry weight.
When we get new items or pick things up we basically have to remove all of our money, to see what our "actual" carry weight is, and then add them all back. It's very tedious and would be much easier if we could modify the weights directly like we can with items.
On the “home” tab of the character creator you can toggle on “ignore coin weight.” My Str 6 Bard is walking around with almost 300 lbs of coins in his purse.
you can always convert it to gems if your DM is being a stickler for weight.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

Not sure if you guys are still on this forum, but one thing I've been doing to help with money weight (without removing the feature as an option) is giving my players a "Quiver" that's been reflavored as a lighter, smaller "Gem Bag" the size of a coin purse; so it's easily accessible from their character screen, and they can easily separate out and allocate gems to use as currency from the rest of their inventory. It makes it an interesting campaign concept, while also making sure their purses aren't bigger than their eyes. Also makes it interesting when they have a whole treasure horde in front of them, but it's not all going to fit in the saddlebags they've brought with them.
