As title say. In the character sheet (and the source book), it is described:
"Bonus Action: ranged spell attack inflicting 2d8 force damage and pushing the target creature up to 5 ft. away from the cannon. Cannon can walk or climb up to 15 feet as part of the bonus action."
But if I customize it to appear in the bonus action list (to roll dice with it), it comes up as 2d8+4 (4 being my intelligence modifier).
Which is exactly why the default is to not have it be visible. You will have to manually adjust the damage with a -4 modifier.
This was meant as a bug report. And I highly doubt that the reason the default is for it to be off is because of an easy bug, when it is likely just one line or two of code to be adjusted in order to fix it. Yeah, adjusting with a -4 modifier does work, but I wanted to just report it so that it can be fixed for those who uses the dice roll in dndbeyond.

This is a known bug since the original release of the Eberron book. That is not an easy fix, trust me. If it were easy, they would have fixed it already. And that is in fact the reason that the default for that attack is off when the default for every other attack is to always display them. Anything that requires an Attack Roll is automatically defaulted to “display as attack,” they had to manually turn that off on that feature intentionally. I know, because it was explained somewhere in here:
