What are some good ways to combine the artificer's mechanics with other magic items, multiclass features, race features, so on?
I've already made a way for a warforged or level 14 artificer to have a wand spellcasting focus, but not need to have a hand for it, so they can have weapons in both hands, or shield and weapons, or anything you like, and still be able to cast spells. This is the link to the full idea: An Interesting Idea
Are there any other strange artificer feature combinations, involving spell storing, magic item attunement, infusions, spellcasting focuses, steel defenders/homunculi, or anything that succeeds at making a unique option for the already very versatile artificers?
I'd love to hear you creative ideas for this, anything you can figure out that I've missed?

I like tag teaming a Battle Smith with a Steel Steel Defender and Homunculus, the versatility between scouting, defense and offense is great and it really scratches the pokemon itch.
In regards to your idea, I'm not sure what the benefit there really is besides Arcane Firearm, you can just have an infused shield/weapon as focus, if you created your wand sheath with replicate magic item, then the sheath itself is a focus for you.
SSI + tiny servant. Each subclass has its own fun here. YMMV on how far each table allows this. Also works with wand of MM if you find or get to make one. Arcane Gatling gun
SSI + haste's additional action (use an item). Works very well with web because the web continues to restrain even after you burn them for bonus damage until the start of your next turn. Some artificers just want to watch the world get stuck and burn.
How are you putting 3rd level spells in a Spell Storing Item? It only works with up to 2nd level spells.

I believe Stoutstein means handing off an SSI to a Tiny Servant and commanding the servant to use it in your first quoted example, and using the additional action granted by the haste spell to "use an item" and activate an SSI in your second quoted example.
Speaking of the second example, both haste and web are concentration spells so just make sure whoever's concentrating on haste isn't the one using the web-filled SSI lest they accidentally gimp themselves by ending haste too early using the SSI.
UPDATE: According to the Sage Advice Compendium, the extra action granted by haste cannot be used to activate a magic item; activating a magic item isn’t a function of the Use an Object action (DMG , "Activating an Item"). Which makes sense for balance because otherwise a hasted artillerist with scorching ray stored in their EAF-infused arcane firearm would theoretically be able to deal in one round at 11th level 3d10+1d8 (firebolt+arcane firearm)+3d8 (explosive cannon)+6d6+1d8 (hasted action to activate the SSI and cast scorching ray with the arcane firearm).
The SSI is not a magical item. At the same time arcane firearm doesn't work with SSI because SSI produces the spell and not using as the spell focus so no bonus damage.
Thanks for the correction, looks like the only thing actually preventing my earlier example from working, oddly enough, was the EAF infusion on the arcane firearm. Without the infusion, the arcane firearm remains nonmagical (provided the base item was nonmagical to begin with) yet still becomes a spellcasting focus you could use as an SSI.
So I don't know how much of a "feature combo" this is, but something I'm working on with my party wizard, is he's going to buy spell scrolls off me to fill out his book. We have access to the full artificer spell list to prepare. If we can prepare the spells, we can make scrolls for them. If we make scrolls, the wizard, who has an F-ton more spell slots than we do, can cast them, expending our usefulness. they can't use all of our spells, but we can let them learn what they can.
That is a good combination, but you won't be able to do higher than 5th level spells, and your list is fairly limiting. Mainly just Utility spells, and some healing. Wizards have all the utility spells in the game, but nearly no healing.

So a few ideas I had for an artillerist artificer. It occurred to me that his force cannon can knock people back a square... and we have a couple of trap spells we can use. Casting grease or web on a group of enemies and maybe using the cannon to knock an enemy into it that was just outside of that area seems like it could be a good idea, or casting it behind them and shooting them into it just to flex on them could be fun. Could also be used to help group enemies closer together for a fire ball or AoE spell! Works best when you use it like a second gun I feel, wielding it in your off hand.
edit: just occurred to me that this could be a good way to trigger the snare spell if you’re in combat with the enemy if it works the way I think it does. Hit the square diagonal to you with the spell, move diagonally to the other side of the enemy, shoot him with the cannon so he is knocked back into the snare, and the spell will trigger.
edit 2: I realize now snare takes a whole minute to work, so probably won’t work in the heat of battle.
Be a changeling. Create the infusion Cloak of Many Fashions. Go mess with people by using an action to change your appearance and a bonus action to change your cloak.

Add the actor feat to it and multiclass 3 into rogue - mastermind be everyone

What do you mean about the Scaling Subclass Features? Which ones in particular?
I agree, Evocation wizard + Alchemist does make your cantrips better, but I wouldn't go 6 levels of wizard for it.
FInd Familiar is great for artificers, I'd prefer Magic Initiate to take it. Arcane Recovery could help a bit with Artillerists.

and he's a divination wizard. So utility is what he's focused on... and having an f-ton of spell slots... and telling the DM "No."

Force Ballista is great for fights near/on ledges and bridges. Also combines greatly with Sickening Radiance, if your party members have that spell.

Not sure if this is a "combo," but echo knight + steel defender sounds like a good way to make a solid front line, especially for a small party.
