So I was reading through the Paladin features today, and found something interesting. The aura features of a paladin are active as long as you are conscious. unconscious and petrified are not the same thing. You can be petrified without being unconscious. Therefore, if your paladin gets turned to stone, they still emit their auras.
Magic protection statue. Anti-fear statue.
(I don't know if this is intended, but as per the rules, it works.)
Hosted a battle between the Cult of Sedge and the Forum Countershere(Done now). I_Love_Tarrasques has won the fight, scoring a victory for the fiendish Moderators.
Now I want to create a villain who "collects" paladins, charms them to become their friend, and the gets them petrified so they have a home base filled with bonus protection. Maybe a high level member of an order in league with a medusa. The tricky part is keeping the villain "friendly" to the paladins so the auras still work.

Disguise self to look like their friend, tell them you need to protect them from so-and-so monster, and petrify them. They aren't aware of their surroundings, to they'll just keep giving off the aura, waiting to be rid of the petrification.

"Where words fail, swords prevail. Where blood is spilled, my cup is filled" -Cartaphilus
"I have found the answer to the meaning of life. You ask me what the answer is? You already know what the answer to life is. You fear it more than the strike of a viper, the ravages of disease, the ire of a lover. The answer is always death. But death is a gentle mistress with a sweet embrace, and you owe her a debt of restitution. Life is not a gift, it is a loan."
As long as the Auras dont do the same effect they stack. For instance you do not +8 from being in two Paladins Aura of Protection but you cam have both Oath specific Auras from a Devotion and Ancients stack.
a very high charisma medusa might have paladins submit willfully. Maybe it infiltrated a paladin of guild/church/temple and became its leader, then having them submit willfully Jonestown-style.

That seems a little harder to pull off, but equally funny!

If two Paladins with different Auras stand together and grant the other members both Aura effects or do you pick between them?
Both auras are granted. Only if there are two auras of the same type, do they not stack.
