Hi, I'm about to play a 5th-level Drow Redemption Paladin and am trying to clothesline the DM with unholy amounts of Persuasion. Is there a way to get expertise in Persuasion for future levels?
Hopping into Bard for a few levels could get you Expertise and some useful features depending on which College you pick, as well as gaining access to some cantrips for ranged options, but it's a 3 level trip. College of Swords could be interesting to pick up a second fighting style and Flourishes though.
The Fighters Purple Dragon knight gets a similar feature, but it's a huge commitment at 7 levels. The Battlemasters Commanding Presence is a slightly earlier option to squeeze a little more persuasion, but it's a dice roll so may be unreliable.
Might be worth considering your Paladin Oath though. Glory would get you access to Enhance Ability for advantage on those checks, and the Channel Divinity of Redemption can get you a +5 to your Persuasion.
Getting Guidance from somewhere could be nice too.
As above though, the Skill Expert, Tasha Ranger, or Rogue are probably the fastest routes to Expertise.
I'd second the bard dip suggestion. Lots of nice stuff in bard if you're going for social manipulation, a few levels of accelerated spell slot progression is nice for smites, and the bardic inspiration feature is a nice use of the paladin's otherwise frequently unused bonus action (as long as you aren't taking PAM) that dovetails well with the paladin's secondary party support role. A few decent subclass options, too, particularly swords and eloquence.
It's the longest wait from available options to pick up expertise, but IMO it's worth the investment.

The Skill Expert feat? One point of ASI, one new proficiency, one expertise.
A level in rogue, if you have the 13 dex. But the feat middlegaednoob mentioned is probably the best way.
Lucky would also help, as you could re-roll a low persuasion 3 times a day. Also good for other things outside of just persuasion.
A level of Ranger would work as well if you can use the variant feature from Tasha's.
My homebrew subclasses (full list here)
(Artificer) Swordmage | Glasswright | (Barbarian) Path of the Savage Embrace
(Bard) College of Dance | (Fighter) Warlord | Cannoneer
(Monk) Way of the Elements | (Ranger) Blade Dancer
(Rogue) DaggerMaster | Inquisitor | (Sorcerer) Riftwalker | Spellfist
(Warlock) The Swarm
