I followed DnD Beyond a bit initially, then again some as pricing information came out and so I showed up today to determine if I should switch to using this for my chars (and thereby pay the ~$80 for the material I'd need). I really prefer to have a character builder do the required math for me, so this looks great.
The first task was to create homebrew for the Unearthed Arcana stuff I am using. This fell over catastrophically when I discovered that not only are homebrew classes prohibited, but they don't even appear to be on the roadmap. So, on the very first step, my character is literally impossible to build.
The second task was to figure out how to get the character into Roll20. (All chars must be in Roll20 so the DM can see them and connect them to our chars on the map.) Roll20 has some good options for putting data up there, but it appears that downloading our char data is also not available. (This one appears to be on the roadmap, but no progress has been made in a long time, so it's hard to tell if it's actually still a goal.)
All in all, it's not a great start for my experience. :/ The tool looks really cool and I'd like to be able to use it, but it looks like I'm not the target market, which is always frustrating. There's no real point spending money at this stage, since I can't even build a single character and couldn't use it if I did. (I apologize a bit that the tone here is a bit negative. That's unfortunately unavoidable, given the obstacles. The tool looks really cool and it'd be great to use it. If it didn't, I wouldn't bother giving feedback.)

They have stated that there will be UA support in the future, right now the belief is that they are waiting for Xanthar's guide to Everything to launch since it will contain some of that material already. As for classes being homebrewed you are correct that is not implemented nor is it on the road map, that being said Bad Eye has indicated that if there is enough interest in that then they will try to find a way to implement it. The sub-class homebrew along with backgrounds and races is being worked on but they aren't releasing timelines before things are ready to be released. I think over time this will become what you are looking for. As for integration with Roll20 there is more there than just exporting a character, I do believe there are ongoing negotiations with Roll20 and possibly FG to integrate DDB characters, that is what I have gathered from the forum posts by Bad Eye.
