One neat feature I would like to see is the ability to modify existing items. For example, one of my characters has a +1 mithral splint armor but no such item exists. I could homebrew one, but I think being able to just customize the mithral splint armor with a +1 bonus would be nice and user friendly.

Are you thinking something along the lines of what has been done for spells? because i agree that would be pretty cool, a few options one for weapons, one for armour and maybe one fore everything else. Could include some bonus attack/damage/ac boxes, maybe a change in damage type or at adjusted armour type. They could all be very similar to the way spells are done. and even on that note, have a custom weapon/armour/item box in the same way custom attack was brought in. I think this would cover a lot of customisation options
