Are there plans to include random generators, such that ( for example ) I could in the mobster section, select 1 or more monsters ( or even just general classes of monsters ), and the add some other parameters ( eg: some kind of terrain / location, frequency of occurrence, time of day, number of monsters, special possibilities ( such as possibility of actual patrols or massed armed forces ) ), and then having selected all the things relevant to the circumstances desired, I can generate a random encounter of anything from 1 unique monster ( or deity etc. ), through to an entire army?
similarly in the case of treasure, to be able to select a number of monsters, input data about them ( possibly also the location, ie proximity to lair ), and then randomly determine equipment / treasure being carried or stored nearby.
im unsure as to how far you're taking this particular compendium tool ... so I'm curious as to the direction currently planned.
Just out of curiosity, is this a thing, yet? I can't seem to find whether or not I can randomly generate loot/loot tables. If this is a thing can you educate me, and if it's not a thing why is this thread dead?

Please, for the love of the gods, tell me how am I to balance DnD with the family and my son's travel hockey? HALP!

Just be advised, those pretty much ignored. There's a vote for "Loot Function" on there that was requested 2 years ago, with a response saying it is planned for early 2019. Development moves at a embarrassing glacially slow pace.

They had to drop basically everything for most of a year and rebuild the framework for the character sheet from the ground up in order to implement these changes. It is planned as part of the Encounter Builder/Combat Tracker update, but they have a backlog of fixes to do on the PC stuff (that the new character sheet can actually handle now) like Spells of the Mark, Class Feature Variants, and other things. Those have to get done first before they can put resources back into updating the DM side of things like a random loot generator.
Thanks for the responses. I much prefer having the character sheets and encounter/combat tracker functioning properly and well before the random loot. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Thanks, again, to both of you!

Just to note, this could also be used with NPC generation
+1
exelent idea, alternatively you could provide an API so other sites can do it for you

Yes an API is a must, but I'm guessing over time, the best things will become part of the core software (?)

It is not currently a feature, and does not appear to be on the public feature road map. If it's a feature you'd like, you can vote for new features at http://ddb.ac/feature-requests.
