I was working at homebrewing a magic weapon today, and ran into several issues:
-There is a modifier type "Replace Damage Type," but the only damage type one can choose in "Modifier Subtype" is Radiant; I believe the entire list of damage types should be available here
-While one can add an atypical ability score modifier to ranged or melee weapon attacks (e.g. Wisdom) by choosing Modifier Type: Bonus Modifier Subtype: Melee Weapon attacks (or Ranged Weapon attacks), Base Stat: WIS, there is no way to replace the original base stat. (e.g. If I do this with a Quarterstaff, and choose Wisdom, then add this magic item to a character sheet, the attack and damage bonuses shown in the attacks section reflect the sum of the strength and wisdom modifiers.)
-Modifier Type: Damage Subtype: One Handed Melee Attacks exists, but there is no parallel Two Handed Melee attack subtype.
-It remains the case that there is no way to change the base damage (either one handed or two handed) of a "magic" weapon in a way that it will show up in the "colapsed" view in the Character builder. I can create items that will show additional damage notations if the item is "opened" so all the info is visible on the character sheet, although the original damage die still appears. (In this case, I want to increase the one handed damage die from 1d6 to 1d8 and the two handed damage die from 1d8 to 1d10; I can find no way to make these changes in a way that shows up correctly on the character sheet)

I was able to make a faux d8 quarterstaff work this by creating a warhammer. Then adding: Modifier Type: Damage; Modifier Subtype: Melee Weapon Attacks; Attribute: WIS Modifier Type: Damage; Modifier Subtype: Melee Weapon Attacks; Fixed Value: Whatever the characters STR modifier is. It wasn't the cleanest way to do it, but it managed to get it to display properly.

I too have a similar issue.
I wanted to change Bracers of Archery and add crossbow / short crossbow but sadly I'm unable to add them in the modifier subtype.
