I noticed that a few months back the 'programming language' (or whatever it is) used when editing for homebrew was changed to something I find much more annoying to use. Can the old language still be used or is it invalid for new creations?
Was this change announced or covered in a thread, and if so can you direct me to it?
Are you perhaps referring to the new rollable tags? The ones that allow for dice rolling on monster stat blocks? This was a new addition back in April, and is by no means required for your homebrew monsters. It simply allows you to create buttons to roll dice in the Combat Tracker. Stormknight created a full guide to it here!

If you just want the old version without the rollable tags it’s just simple old plain text.
