I have noticed this too, any feedback on this as it is quite annoying to have to work around.
Also, is there any way to add a button to manually add a specific character once the battle has already started. You can add a custom character or monster but it would be extremely useful to be able to pick a specific monster or character to hide and show or add it from a list later on in the fight.
My work around for now is to deactivate characters temporarily and deleting the encounter, and then building the encounter with the character deactivated, which removes the character from the builder entirely, and then I can re-activate them when I need them.
Hi all, is anyone else experiencing where when managing a party's characters, that the "..." next to a character does not bring up the menu that allows you to hide them from the encounter when the encounter is started. Also the character portraits are not loading in this window. The portraits not loading is minor, but the "..." menu not working is an issue.
Up until recently I was able to hide characters in the edit mode of saved encounters. Today I logged in and when I click the three dots top right of character name, nothing happens. Am using chrome.
glad it wasnt just me. i have been trying to troubleshoot ways to make it work. manual edit is only way to show a character level in the encounter. i get its in beta mode though. also the encounter never ending when all creatures other then PC are at 0.
I hope this gets fixed soon. The encounter builder is such a good tool and saves a lot of time. Also, to be able to add or hide characters for an encounter on the go is priceless. As a DM you have to be reactive as a situation can change in a blink.
Yeah I was trying to finish up some last minute changes to my player line up for tomorrow and ran into this. The whole site has been more than a little buggy since the merger. I hope they get it all cleaned up soon, some of the page load times are painful. I love the app and site and want very much for it to keep getting better and better.
As a workaround you can “deactivate” the players on the campaign page, create your encounter attached to that campaign where it will only pull the currently active PCs, and then when you are done creating the encounter and have it saved you can then reactivate those PCs if desired. The encounter won’t automatically update, and will only change which PCs it calculates if reattached to the campaign anew.
Really annoying when the party is split and I want to run separate encounters. I'll just have to ignore them in the initiative order and calculate them myself in the builder.
This has been going on for a week (or more) now. They are aware of it.

Thank you for the report! I am passing it along.

Ah ok, thank you!
Same, very frustrating. Needs a fix, quickly!

It’s a fairly newly introduced bug. The Devs have been notified about it. No way of know how long it will take to correct, but it has been passed on.

Be welcome, but be wary.
Me too. Am disappointed that this is being ignored.
