The one of the gunner feat's primary functions is to ignore the Loading feature of firearms. however looking over firearms i found that only the non-exandrian pistol and musket have the loading feature and the rest instead use the Reload feature. Am I to infer that this feature of the gunner only works with these two firearms? Most likely not but the implications of treating Loading as Reload 1 are something to consider.
I figure this might be a case of outdated terms/ rules but I figure that I should post this just in case.
There does seem to be something odd there, but my guess is that the print version of Tasha’s has the same issue. If that is the case, DDB is not allowed to change it here until WOTC offers an errata.
Reload. A limited number of shots can be made with a weapon that has the reload property. A character must then reload it using an action or a bonus action (the character’s choice).
Ignoring loading allows a PC to use the musket & pistol with Extra Attack(s) the same way Crossbow Expert allows a PC to uses crossbows with Extra Attack(s). The weapons with Reload already allow for that, then just duck behind cover for a quick bonus action mag-swap and off again shooting the same turn.
@Iamsposta That makes some sense, however making a feat that only affects 2 in 17 firearms seems somewhat niche.
It would be one thing if the reload feature was unique to the Exandria firearms, but they are also included with the futuristic weapons so wizards had both weapon properties since the DMG release.
The feat comes with 4 bullet points, while most other official feats give 2 or 3, so it's not too surprising if one of them is a bit minor or just makes sure your capability of using all firearms is on a similar level.
Also "ignore loading property" and "no disadvantage on ranged attacks" more or less gives you the primary benefits of the Crossbow Expert feat, except applying to firearms, and that's no slouch.

No, I believe that was both RAW & RAI.
