When choosing the Animal Enhancements, as a level 0, you can choose "Underwater Adaptation", giving you the ability to breath underwater, etc. However the moment you choose a class, for some reason, that gets removed, and also disappears from the list as an option. Is that intended or is this a bug?
I'm building a character, a Simic Hybrid Izzet Engineer Artificer, and that's when I noticed this issue.
Under Animal Enhancement, set "Character Levels Where Options Known" to 1,5 I unchecked the "Is Called Out?" box because I have no clue what that means For Manta Glide, Nimble Climber, and Underwater Adaptation, I set the Required Level to 1 (this may be optional)
Interesting to know there's a way to manipulate the fix via creating homebrew.
I'd like to know if there's a mod/dev/whatever the proper terminology is who can fix the Official race on here without having to backdoor fix it with homebrew.
Character levels where Options known is already set to 1,5 on the official race.
The Is Called Out toggle is whether the feature is declared in the character builder, when you're selecting the race and it gives you the preview of what that race does, before you conform the selection.
The required level is also set correctly for all of the options on the Animal Enhancement feature.
I've updated and saved the official race, in case something was odd with the cached version of it.
I've just run tests myself and, while I can duplicated the odd circumstances where selecting Artificer as a class causes the Animal Enhancement feature to go back to "select an option" I was still able to select the option I selected previously.
tl;dr try building a new character now and it should work correctly.

Yeah, it for some reason, fell off as an option entirely after you were to choose a level in ANY class, not just Artificer. It now works correctly, I believe, however you, amusingly, can no longer select it at "Level 0".
Technically correct - the best kind of correct - as the feature states, "At 1st level, choose one of the following options:"
Flippancy aside though, I agree this is a little janky and not really expected behaviour.
I'll ask one of my team to take a look at this on our test environment during the week, to see if we can improve it.
Thank you very much. I appreciate how quickly you were able to fix this though. On a related, but separate train of thought, is the Mizzium Apparatus supposed to add the spells listed on the item to your spell list or no? Because if it is supposed to, it doesnt.

I can confirm this bug happens too. Character link:

Steps:
Curiously, on the Features & Traits tab of my character sheet it shows the following:

This can be fixed with the following adjustments (https://www.dndbeyond.com/races/996637-copy_of_simic-hybrid)
Under Animal Enhancement, set "Character Levels Where Options Known" to 1,5
I unchecked the "Is Called Out?" box because I have no clue what that means
For Manta Glide, Nimble Climber, and Underwater Adaptation, I set the Required Level to 1 (this may be optional)
Character using this change that behaves correctly: https://www.dndbeyond.com/characters/71653784

Interesting that the options known levels do not transfer over when you create a copy of it.
